Leopard Spotlight!
Mrs. Lynch is extremely knowledgeable in her area of study and does an incredible job keeping the CTE department updated on district and campus initiatives. Mrs. Lynch works tirelessly to stay informed and regularly shares any information/knowledge she gains with her department. She is very energetic and thank you Mrs. Lynch for always advocating for students!

Senior Project Reminder
Attention Senior Class of 2023!
Seniors who did not submit thier project in December will need to submit thier Senior Project presentation on or before March 1st. Parents may access additional information about the senior project here. Seniors will be receiving periodic reminders of the deadline through Google Classroom. Our 2022-2023 LHS Seniors will submit a video presentation for their senior project this year.
We look forward to seeing the amazing things our seniors have been working on as a capstone to their senior year!

Need to register to vote?
We are excited to provide eligible high school students with the opportunity to register to vote under Section 13.046(a) of the Texas Election Code. We will have voter registrar applications available to students that are 18 years of age. You can pick up an application at the LHS Library or from Deborah Martinez in the AP Office.

Attendance Task Force Weekly Report
Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).
Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:

VOE (Verification of Enrollment)
If your student needs a VOE for driver's permit or license, please send requests to Marisa_Davis@lovejoyisd.net and pick up at the front desk.
Student Sign-Out (Driver and Parent Pick-Up)
If your student needs to leave campus for any reason, please send sign-out requests to LHSSignout@lovejoyisd.net. Your student will get a slip and be dismissed at the specified time. Please include the student's name, time they need to be dismissed, and any details we may need. We kindly ask that the requests are submitted as far in advance as possible.

Positive Behavior Traits: CARING
This year, the counseling department will be focusing on the four principal Positive Behavior Traits from the Texas Education Agency TEKS. Please use the slides linked below to review what caring looks like in a variety of ways during high school for Lovejoy Leopards . We encourage you to connect this with your family's expectations as well!
Lovejoy Softball Bat Girls!
Is your daughter interested in softball? Does she play softball? Have her come and join our JV or Varsity teams as a Lovejoy Bat Girl for a game! Please sign up for our softball season using the QR code or signup genius link below! Girls need to be dressed in softball attire and have a batting helmet to wear. Each girl will receive a t-shirt as a thank you for their participation! Please sign up by March 7th! Come and support your Lady Leopards! Play Ball!

Computer Science vs. Plano Senior High
The computer science team competed at Plano Senior High School on Saturday, Jan 21. Lovejoy entered three advanced teams and one novice team in the contest. The programming portion was a 2 hour programming contest. Each team of three students was given a packet of problems and two hours to solve as many as possible. Ties were broken by time. Robotics Earns The Innovate Award!
1082T, Titans, has worked hard all season and for the first time earned the Innovate Award! This is one of the top design-related awards. We are so proud of what all of these teams continue to accomplish and we look forward to seeing them in action this Saturday at Lovejoy High School!

Girls Soccer
Last weekend the girls varsity soccer team competed in the Governor's Cup in Georgetown. In their first game, the Leopards beat Atascocita 5-0. Goals were scored by Emma Nelson (2), Paige Young, Mia Reaugh, and Morgan Paharik. Assists were by Paige Young, Emma Smith, Margo Chester, and Emma Nelson (2). In their second game, the varsity team beat Boerne Champion 5-1. Goals were scored by Ella York, Nicole Young, Emma Nelson, Paige Young, and Alexa Paharik. Assists were by Emma Nelson and Ella York. In their final game of the tournament, varsity beat Lake Belton 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Emma Smith and assisted by Ella York.
The girls played in their first district game of the season Wednesday evening vs. Melissa and won 3-0. Goals were scored by Emma Nelson and Kate Carlson (2). Assists were by Kiera Watson, Mia Reaugh, and Ella York.
Big shoutout to goalkeepers Kenlea Swadener and Natalie Lenart who have 4 clean sheets on the season with help from defenders Margo Chester, Katie Manders, Maggie Manders, Nicole Young, Bailee Neatherlin, Natalie Burns, Alexa Paharik, Morgan Paharik, and Gianna Lutcza.
