Michael is overcoming personal issues EVERYDAY. He is always making sure all his "I's" are dotted and all his "T's" are crossed. The beginning of the year was a struggle but with the help of his mom he was able to reach inside and find the inner strength it takes to continue on. Great kid and example of true grit and perseverance. I am PROUD to be his teacher this year!

I have chosen Cayce for the March Character Education Focus of the Month for Individuality. She is a wonderful example of how being your own individual and your true self can pave the way for so many! She is a joy to have in class.

Illana-Rae exemplifies hope, the April character education focus of the month. She never gives up when tasks or content standards are difficult. Illana-Rae knows if she works hard by continuing to practice, participates in lives class sessions and asks questions, she will succeed and master the standards. Illana-Rae is a role model GCA student and it is a pleasure to teach her!

Myah always offers to help during class. She posts all of our links to the noteboard for convenience, and she makes helpful videos for tricky assignments. Whenever we get new students to the class, Myah volunteers to take them to a BOR so she can show them how to navigate our programs. She is committed to helping others and I am very grateful as a first year teacher at GCA for her assistance.

Cayden is such a bright and intelligent young lady. I love having her in my class, and she brings so much energy that brightens my day :) She is a joy to teach, and I know she is going to do great things in life! Keep up the great work, Cayden! :)

Libby comes to class with a positive attitude each day. She has a hopeful expectation for each day. She supports others and hopes for the best for each of her classmates and teachers. Dallas is always trying to persevere in class. He works hard to ask questions when he does not understand and strives to get the concept. I push him because I know he can be pushed beyond the limits he sets for himself. When he rises to that occasion, he impresses not only himself but me as well. I am proud of him for reaching out when he needs help and working to not just "pass math" but to understand math.

Erin has fiercely been trying improve her math grade and skills this semester. She was in a trench she thought she could not get out of, but together we found a solution that gave her hope. She has far exceeded my expectations in just a short time frame and I am so proud of her. I HOPE she knows how incredible she is!

Christ'Yan is an excellent example of the character trait hope. She has a desire to do well in math and to grasp concepts. Aaliyah gives me hope that her character traits will be an example for other students to follow. Aaliyah volunteered to attend my Computer Science Open Office Tutorial session to help her classmates. I placed her in a breakout room and when I came back she was demonstrating the assignment, providing examples, and encouraging the students (just like a teacher). HOPE = Aaliyah

Jalen is always willing to help his peers when they are off task. He speaks out and reminds them what they need to do to excel in math. He uses himself as an example when explaining. He says, "Come on guys we can do this!" He ensures that he knows as much of the material as possible. If he doesn't, he informs the teacher and asks for help.

Choose elective classes carefully and remember that every attempt is made to accommodate students’ first choices, but due to scheduling needs, this will not always be possible. Therefore, please ensure that all choices including alternates are courses in which you would like to enroll.

BRIDGE BILL ASSIGNMENT
Have you completed your required Bridge Bill assignments?
Please Note: Completion of all Bridge Bill activities is a state of Georgia requirement for all middle school students and is NOT optional.
This semester you can earn an “A” on a Social Studies assignment by completing your required Bridge Bill activities!
8th Grade Level Bridge Bill Requirements
- Complete Career Interest Inventory – Inventory should have been completed in 6th Grade.
- Complete a Career Aptitude Inventory. (Instructions listed below)
- Complete an Individual Graduation Plan (This requirement will be meet in the April 29th session).
- Receive information on the Dual Enrollment Program (Please see instructions below)
