LEAD 2021: Principal Panel
LEAD 2021 IV. Communication Strategy: We will create a plan that customizes communication methods and messages for students, parents, teachers, administration, and community to communicate and support the GCISD mission and strategic objectives. Superintendent's Objectives #6: Create and implement a plan to systemically pilot “student voice” as a mechanism for feedback over the next three years .
To afford our Texans voice in the going ons of Bransford Elementary, a principal panel has been formed. The purpose of the panel is for students to share their thoughts and ideas with Mrs. Halliburton. The panel offers students in kindergarten through fifth grade an opportunity provide student perspective. Students were given the opportunity to apply for the panel in their classes completing an application, online for grades 1-5 and paper for kindergarten, on which they had to articulate why they would like to serve on the panel, their favorite thing about BES, and ideas for improving the campus. The panel will meet once a month for a lunch meeting. This week marks the first lunch meetings of the principal panel.
Looking forward to listening to student voice and building an excellent school together!

Oh Christmas Tree!
We have been invited to take part in the City of Colleyville's holiday festivities. In addition to Mrs. Hockenbrough bringing choir to the event, BES will decorate a tree with ornaments made by our Texans. Our theme is "Oh Christmas Tree" as the tree will be decorated with tree ornaments. Students will create the ornaments next Friday, Nov. 20 during school.
Please consider donating materials and/or time for the making of the ornaments.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Attendance Reminders
ATTENDANCE
We look forward to seeing your children each and every day at school. However, we understand circumstances arise that will affect your children’s school attendance. Below, please find the attendance policies of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.
Doors open at 7:15 a.m. and students head to the classrooms at 7:35 a.m. If you arrive before 7:15 a.m., you may attend KidzU or wait for the doors to open at 7:15 a.m.
Class instruction starts at 7:45 a.m. Students arriving after 7:45 a.m. are marked late.
Tardies are issued starting at 8:00. Texas Education Code Section 25.094 Attendance for Credit law states that a child must be in class 90% of the time in order to be eligible for grade promotion. Unexcused tardies and early releases count towards time away from class.
You can report an absence by calling 817-305-4920. If the child goes to the doctor, thank you for sending a doctor’s note. If the child is sick but you didn’t go to the doctor, thank you for sending a written note from you explaining the absence. You may also email Shelly Sartin, our data secretary at shelly.sartin@gcisd.net to record the absence. Illness is an excused absence when a note is received.
When multiple absences, tardies, and/or early releases occur, two different types of letters are mailed to you as related to two different Texas Education Code, TEC, laws
Excused absences include, but are not limited to, illnesses with a note and religious observations. Unexcused absences include, but are not limited to, trips and illnesses without notes.
