Head Coach Mr. Drollette and this talented group of young student-athletes led their team to an undefeated season. The team was crowned the LCAA and Section 5 Champions. In addition to their remarkable accomplishments on the field, the students also excelled in the classroom. The Girls Varsity Soccer Team were named NYS Scholar Athletes Award Winners for having a combined GPA over 90%. The leadership provided by our senior players was instrumental in their highly successful season. On behalf of our MS/HS, I would like to thank all the players for representing our school in the finest manner. We will miss you next year, but your historic year will never be forgotten. I would like to wish you the very best in your future endeavors.
Community Spotlight: Charlie Parent
On December 29, 2020, the entire GCS School Community suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Charlie Parent. Charlie graduated from GCS in 1970. Since then Mr. Parent has been a strong advocate for our school and community. Mr. Parent spent his entire career working for the village. The beautiful scenery found throughout our village is directly attributed to Charlie’s efforts and quality work. He served for 50 years on the Geneseo Fire Department. During this time he mentored many future firefighters. Charlie was always willing to provide a helping hand for special events in our community. Charlie’s friendly smile and personality will be greatly missed in our community. Charlie is survived by his wife Deb, who is a beloved bus driver in our district. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deb and their family during these difficult times. We deeply appreciate all that Charlie has done for our school and community.
Staff Spotlight: Marilyn Torres, Robert Flynn, Cosimo Auccello
The GCS Cafeteria Staff is one of the best in our region. The many contributions they make to our school are the direct result of the high quality work performed by the entire staff, including Marilyn Torres, Robert Flynn, and Cosimo Aucello. Their talents and dedication to our school allow them to provide the highest level of service to our students. In addition, their kind and friendly personalities have a positive impact on our school culture. The staff and students at GCS thank them for all that they do for our school. Their friendly smiles and willingness to go the extra mile are deeply appreciated by all.
Welcomed Addition: Mr. Tasber
It is with tremendous excitement that I announce veteran elementary teacher Mr. Dave Tasber will be joining our MS/HS staff on February 1, 2021. Mr. Tasber is a K-6 certified teacher with a concentration in science. He will be teaching Grade 6 Science and MS Living Environment. Mr. Tasber’s teaching skills and professionalism will make him a valuable asset to our Middle and High School. His ability to build positive relationships with students makes him a perfect fit in our school. The MS/HS Staff and I are looking forward to working with Mr. Tasber in the future.
