JOB DESCRIPTION

Cake bakers are specialists in the preparation and presentation of cakes, and they often produce one-of-a-kind baked goods. Their creations may be prepared in large commercial bakeries, markets and restaurants. Because their work involves handling perishable foods, cake bakers need to know how to safely store and prep all ingredients. They must possess creativity, organizational ability and a good deal of energy.

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Although a college degree is not required to become a professional cake baker, students may wish to attend accredited culinary schools to formally train in the baking and pastry field. This training also provides individuals with much of the background needed to start their own baking business. In some cases, workers acquire their cake baking skills through on-the-job training in a bakery or restaurant.

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR EDUCATION

The government pays for your education. Once you get a job, they start to take the money back depending on how much you get paid.

SPECIFIC SKILLL REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

There are specific skiils required to become a pro baker. Skills such as:+ Maths (to measure the amount of ingrediants needed in the recipe)+ Baking Skill (you need to know what ingrediants you need to make a cake just right)+ Creativity ( being creative is a very important part of being a baker because as time changes you need to update your designs for your cakes)

TYPE OF INCOME

The type of income you'll recieve is usuallly a salary. Bakers usually have a salary from $20-$25 per hour according to what they do, for example: a baker or designer or sculpters.

WHAT INTERESTS ME ABOUT THIS OCCUPATION

What inrerests me in being a baker is that there are no limits to your creativity and what you can do. It could start from a normal circle cake to a completely enourmous colouful cake that blows fire.
