MRS. DETTMER'S NOTES

We are in full swing at Rockcreek with projects, field trips, and chainsaw art.

We are adding the final touches as we prepare for Field Day next week. Please keep an eye on the weather and the Remind system set up through Rockcreek. The weather looks promising with a 10% chance of rain as of 3:00 today. Thank you for all of the donations you have sent - hotdogs, sunscreen, water, and hand sanitizer. You can still send these in on Monday and Tuesday.

Parents volunteering for Field Day will remain with your child's class unless you are asked to run a station at some point during the day. All parents volunteering MUST have a criminal history check on file. Monday is the deadline to complete this form. This is an exciting day, however only students enrolled at Rockcreek may attend.

Field Trips

Indiana Pacers - Reading Program

The Pacers and Indiana Fever Mascot, Freddy Fever, came to visit K-2 on Thursday. It was a great day of reading and excitement.

What Happened to the Tree Behind the School?

Do you remember the tree that used to stand behind the school? It had to be removed to make room for the new classrooms. This tree has been on the property for many years. It is a part of our school. We had Chris Trotter come in and make both a bulldog carving and a bench for students, staff, and families to enjoy for many years. We will soon have permanent locations for all!

BULLDOG BOOSTERS

Walkathon is coming! Walkathon is scheduled for Friday, May 20th. This is an exciting event for the students each year - music, walking, snow cones, and prizes! Thank you to all of our volunteers. A percentage of money raised will go towards purchasing the rock tunnel students voted on earlier in the year.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

We are hoping to have construction complete by July 1st. The current plan is for 3rd and 4th grade classes to move to the new classrooms. This will allow students to spread out in the building. I will continue to share pictures as we have new updates.

Rockcreek Yearbooks Available Now

Yearbooks are available in the office for $15 while supplies last. Don't miss out on a great year of memories!
