Partnership in Ministry
Continuation from last week:
Dr. Charles A Daniels
There were five ways that the Philippians church became involved in partnership ministry with their man of God, this was evident through: the Gospel, the grace [gifting’s] of the man of God, The Holy Spirit, the suffering, and giving to their man of God.
It is important that pastors and leaders remind the saints of God the importance of being in partnership in ministry. It is important that pastors encourage the entire body of Christ to become involved in the ministry. The Apostle Paul reminded the church in Philippians 1:5 “[I thank my God] for your fellowship-your sympathetic co-operation and contribution and partnership- in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day [you heard it] until now. He thanked them for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him from the first day they heard it. The Philippians church entered into partnership by fellow-shipping , having sympathetic cooperation, providing financial contributions, and joined partnership in advancing the gospel.
Paul shared with them that they were partners in his grace or his gifting’s. Philippians 1:7 “ Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. Those in partnership with their senior partners are partakers of his grace or divine power for ministry. Therefore the gifting upon the man of God will fall upon his partners for ministry.
Paul then shared with them that they were partners with the Holy Spirit. Philippians 2:1 “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies. The partners in ministry enter into partnership with the Holy Spirit.
Paul than shared with them that they were partners in his suffering. Philippians 3:10 That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his suffering being made conformable unto his death; The sign of true partners in the ministry are those who are able to endure suffering and adversity. Philippians 1:29–30 – For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, 30 engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have. Partners must be able to accept the suffering for Christ sake. As a partner you must remember that as the senior partner sufferers you must be willing to endure suffering with the senior partner. Partners stay with their ministry when the man of God and the church is undergoing suffering; going through tribulations is part of ministry.
Finally, he shared with them that they were partners with him through their giving. Philippians 4:19 “ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul prayed for his partners that God would supply all their needs.
So remember, partnership in ministry is shared in the Gospel, grace, the Holy Spirit, suffering, giving and receiving. Continue to covenant partner with your senior partner. The senior partner can pray to God for his partners to have all their needs met according to God’s riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
