Parents Can Help Students In Bullying Situations
- Help students understand bullying. Talk about what bullying is and how to stand up to it safely. Let them know that bullying is unacceptable. Make sure students know how to get help and who can help.
- Keep the lines of communication open. Actively listen to the student. Check in on them often. Know their friends, ask about school, and understand their concerns.
- Encourage kids to participate in activities they love. Special interests, and hobbies can boost confidence, self-esteem, help them make friends, and protect them from bullying behavior.
- Model how to treat others with kindness and respect.

Drug Prevention Fact
Did you know?
Marijuana can be laced with other drugs that can cause not only an intense high, but also psychoactive effects. What are psychoactive effects, you may ask? The mixture of marijuana and psychoactive drugs can affect how your brain works and can also change your mood. Think of reactions such as hallucinations, blackouts or extreme memory loss, delusions, and/or suicidal behavior--and these are just a few examples. Marijuana can be laced, unintentionally or intentionally, with drugs such as lead or heavy metals, glass, fungus/bacteria, PCP, LSD, Cocaine, and more. Help your students stay away from drugs by providing them with self-regulating tools and coping strategies. Each month, along with our drug communication, we will share tips and tricks that could potentially help your students think twice about drugs.
