Kindergarten Orientation Slideshow!

I really enjoyed seeing so many new faces during our Kindergarten Orientation, which took place on Thursday evening. You can view the orientation video on the Yake Elementary School Facebook page by clicking here. If you forward to the 3:55 mark, you will get past most of the technical difficulties. I do apologize for some of the glitches along the way.

You can view the slideshow by clicking on this link (click here).

I am so excited to meet all of my new Gators in the fall.

Attention any parents interested in more information regarding Special Education!

The WBSD Special Services Department would love to invite you to be a part of our WBSD PAC committee. The world of special education has many acronyms that can be confusing and overwhelming to navigate. Have you ever heard the word FAPE? What about LRE? Would you like more information about special education as it relates to your student? If you would like to join us on Monday May 3rd at 1pm for a Zoom webinar covering FAPE and LRE please email Monique Giannetti (WBSD Parent Support Facilitator) at giannem@wbsdweb.com to register.

Wonder Wednesdays!

Join us at 8:00 p.m. every Wednesday night as Mr. Podlewski reads the book "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. Many of you have already seen the movie, now hear the story behind the movie. If you have not seen the movie, this is even better as watching the movie as a family will be a treat at the end of the story.

You can join Mr. Podlewski live on the Yake Elementary PTO Facebook page every Wednesday night by clicking on the link below.

We hope that you enjoy this wonderful story as much as we do!

Student Health Screen Every Morning!

In order to implement more stringent health screening protocols (as mandated by the Wayne County Health Department), we are now expecting that a parent completes the health screener, online, for their child(ren), each day that they are to be in attendance. This is the same process that all employees in the WBSD have been completing.

This is an important requirement for the district to continue our face to face instruction. This screener is similar to the one that we have been asking you to do daily since the beginning of the year. This screener is available on an online platform through a google form application.

The screener can be made available by using the QR code below.

Or by clicking this link: https://screener.wbsdweb.com/

Please note that if you answered yes to any of the questions in the screener you will need to keep your child home and follow the guidance provided by the Wayne County Health Department.

Your help in making sure our students and staff are healthy and safe every day is appreciated.
