Johnston varsity marching band takes 1st at Valleyfest
Rajkumar earns perfect ACT score
Johnston Men's Golf wins state championship
The JHS men’s golf team won the IHSAA 2022 Class 4A Golf State Championship at Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids. The team had a stellar season, winning 5 out of 6 invitationals as well as the CIML Conference Meet. The varsity program finished its season with an overall record of 109-5. Congratulations!

JHS Best Buddies to receive statewide recognition
The Johnston High School chapter of Best Buddies will be honored Oct. 20 by Best Buddies Iowa for being an exceptional chapter in Iowa. The group creates one-on-one friendships for individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Here's the JHS chapter having its Match Party, revealing and bonding with buddy pairs.
JCSD inducts first group of 37 iJAG students
Johnston on Monday inducted its first group of 37 students into iJAG, Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates, in its inaugural year here.The program helps kids build the skills to be successful in the classroom, on the job and in life. It connects business and education to help prevent dropouts and provide school-to-career solutions. Read more.

Johnston schools will host two trick-or-treat events
The JHS Family Spooktacuar with trick or treating and face painting will be held 5:30-8 pm Wed Oct. 26 in the JHS Cafeteria and Gym. Groups willing to decorate a space can register here. Those who bring donations for the Johnston Partnership will qualify for a raffle. The next day, the Summit PTO will hold a Trunk or Treat event from 5:30 to 8 p.m Thurs Oct. 27 at Summit. Those interested in hosting a trunk can contact Megan Sing, summitptoboard@gmail.com.
