Tierra Fria: The Cool Highlands

The Incas used to live on the Tierre Fria between 6,000 feet and 12,000 feet and in the higher elevations the temperature often drops below freezing. The most physical features of the Tierra Fria are the mountains and plateaus, the mountains are steep and rugged.

Plants rely mostly on rain fall if you're in an area that is more moist than others.

Through the years the people of Tierra Fria have adapted to life in the cold on the high mountains, their lungs have even adapted to the thin air and their lungs have become larger to compensate.

Farmers grow plants that survive better in high altitudes and grow them on the flat areas of the mountains slope.
