LAAMS Lion Student & Family News
May 2021 Vol.9
A Message From Mr. Hernandez
Dear families,
I am thrilled to announce that the return of students to our campus was much missed, celebrated, and appreciated. Thank you, parents, for trusting us with your children. Though we had around two hundred students return and their presence was embraced, the additional 900 plus students were missed.
I hope that with the students that showed up physically to school, success follows so that other families might also begin to transition to the hybrid model and send their students to school. Our school will not be complete until every single child that makes up our student body is back in a class. I fully understand the reservations, the fears, and the uncertainty of sending your children back to school. I am sure that every single member of our community has somehow been impacted by the pandemic during the past twelve months. The pain, frustration, and stress that some of our families have experienced and are currently experiencing should by no means be ignored. If you are one of our families in need of support, know that we are here to help.
If you are not ready to send your children physically back to school, it is understood. Know that we are here and will support you as much as we can. Feel free to contact the school
at (323) 238 1800.
Thank you, families.

Student MyMail Access
Students can now link to their L.A. Unified MyMail email account from within the LMS, Schoology. This feature will help students easily access their email from within their Schoology account. Students can click on the โwaffleโ icon and select MyMail to be directed to their email login page. Students will need to enter their SSO email address and password to access their accounts. QR codes cannot be used to access student email accounts.
ATTENTION ALL 8th Grade BUDDING Artists!!!
There is a free art program for students who will be in 9th grade next fall. Not only are the classes free, but this would look amazing on your college applications. Contact Ms. Rojas if you are interested in applying or have any questions.
I am grateful to be part of your community, advocate for all children, and collaborate with you as our education partners. Thank you for making LAAMS your childโs school.
