The DCMS Bat Signal: 5/15/2020
Super me, super you, everyday heroes make dreams come true.
You made it! Great job Team DCMS! Now, all we have to do is do the finalizing, organizing, and posting of grades. But, after the year you've had, those tasks will be like taking a walk in the park compared to the end of this weird, historic year.
The expectation for classroom cleanout is to come in on your assigned day between the hours of 9 AM and 1 PM. You do not have to report or stay for the entire duration. The point is to get your job done, eat lunch, and be on your way. Lunch will be provided by the District from Chick-Fil-A on all three clean-out days. Chick-Fil-A lunch will be in the cafe. Final grades and final attendance will be due to be posted at noon on May 22. There will be no grade given for goal classes this quarter/semester. I have 150 masks available for your use if needed.* You may also bring your own. I only request that you take one only and use that for the duration of your time these last few days.
ALL STAFF coming to DCMS must enter and exit the building through door 1/main entrance.
Please note that your children are NOT allowed to join you during any of the time you are working and reporting to the building. Thanks for your understanding. Please contact me if this becomes a challenge.
The schedule for the end of year classroom cleanout is below.
If you are helping to pass out locker contents to families, THANK YOU! What an undertaking it has been to get this process ready. A huge shoutout to our custodians who bore the biggest workload of all by placing all the locker contents into individual bags and labeling them. I also thank Anna Hopkins, Tisha Lucas, and Amanda Birkey for assisting with putting novels, medicines, and other items in bags as well. For those of you who volunteered to help pass out locker contents to families, pizza from Casey's will also be provided for your lunch on your assigned volunteer day. Pizza will be available in the office admin conference room for staggered eating as allowed by the volume of traffic.
The schedule for locker contents distribution is also below.

Classroom Clean Out Schedule with Chick-Fil-A Lunch
Teachers are to clean out classrooms for summer cleaning. Make sure all items are off desks and tables to allow for carpet cleaning and/or floor waxing.
Locker Content Distribution Schedule and Casey's Pizza Lunch
Pick up/Drop off Designated Times:
Monday 5/18 -- Grades 5 & 7 from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Tuesday 5/19 -- Grades 6 & 8 from 9 AM to 1 PM.
We will have bins out for families to return school-owned books/materials and for Chromebooks that need repairs. Parents will put items in the appropriate bins themselves. We will ask families to open their trunks to allow us to place the locker bags inside in order to avoid direct contact.
Volunteers should arrive to school at 8:45 AM to get directions, orient to the distribution process, and set up. Lists of students will be provided by alpha and locker number in order to find and distribute the bags.
Masks/Personal Protective Equipment
Until further notice, employees working on campus should wear masks when they cannot adhere to reasonable social distancing standards. This is especially true if the employee will be closely interacting with students, other employees, or members of the community. Employees are not required to wear the corporation's disposable masks. They are welcome and encouraged to wear cloth masks or other masks if they prefer.
- If two employees are in a meeting where at least six feet of distance cannot be maintained, they should wear a mask.
- A teacher working alone in his or her classroom or an employee at a desk without others around may remove his or her mask. However, the employee should put a mask on when they will be unable to maintain social distance from other individuals.
Overall, common sense should prevail. If a situation feels uncertain, it is best to err on the side of wearing a mask.
