The Village School Bluebird
October/November 2022
Fall Greetings!
We are pleased that our school year is off to a great start! I am so proud of our Villagers for their positive energy and for working hard to be their best every day!
Our fabulous teachers were so excited to meet you during our first in person Back to School Night in two years. We had a wonderful evening sharing highlights of the great work and learning happening in our classrooms! Thank you for being a part of the Village School Family and joining us as partners in your child's education.

Enjoy the season!

Week of Respect!
During the Week of Respect (Octeber 3-7) we focused on making the world a warmer place by radiating respect. Students learned that they could radiate respect by being courteous and polite, getting to know people before judging them, listening to what other people have to say and being sensitive to other people's feelings. Villagers strive to radiate respect by following the rules and managing own emotions instead of using insults, making fun of others or name calling. Villagers learned that an easy way to show respect is by treating people the way you would like to be treated!
Villagers participated in themed Spirit Days and Morning Meeting activities focused on the topic for the day. Be sure to talk with your child about the activities and reinforce that we are always looking for students to show respect throughout the year towards themselves, others and our school.
Halloween Happenings - Monday, October 31st
As Halloween approaches, we would like to inform you of upcoming activities in which your children are welcomed to participate. On Monday, October 31st, we will kickoff the day with our annual Readers' Theater assemblies. VES students will be entertained by staff as they use their silliest voices to read Halloween stories. Students will participate in a fun and interactive large group read aloud, then each class will share collaboratively written poetry!
Halloween parties will take place in every classroom. Parties will be planned, facilitated and attended by room parents and their designees only. Designated parent participants are required to check in at the front door sign-in station upon arrival.
Students are welcome to wear VES/Monty gear or Halloween costumes for their class parties. Costumes should be quick and easy to change into/out of and be free of props/weapons. Your child’s teacher(s) and room parents will provide classroom party details.
