Principal's Message
As of today, we have collected 5215 items to donate to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. Thank you all so much! The students are currently in the lead for our staff vs. students challenge. Students have donated 3138 items; staff have donated 2077.
Other reminders:
- Ask your child to tell you what "I am a Coyote. Hear me HOWL" means. They should be able to recite the H.O.W.L. See if they can give you examples of each.
- Please consider having extra masks in a ziploc in your child's bag. Some masks need replacing by afternoon. We have already given out over 800 masks.
- We are in need of substitute teachers, substitute teaching assistants, interventionists, bus drivers, food service workers. If you have any times/days/availability, please apply.
- MembershipToolkit is where you get all things HSO (Home and School Organization). You'll find spiritwear orders, tickets to events, news, calendar, ways to volunteer, and more. Please create your account using the link below.
- With Halloween on a Sunday, and in an effort to minimize the loss of instructional time, we will not be having costumes, school parties, or a parade. Please join us (in costume!) at Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 29th, 6:00-7:00pm
Thank you!

Principal
Good reminders for students (and parents!)
School-Wide Second Step Focus
Growth Mindset teaches us "I can get better at something with practice and effort."
Next week, your child should learn how to:
- Kindergarten: demonstrate paying attention and using kind words to encourage themselves and others while learning something new together
- 1st Grade: demonstrate practicing and paying attention—despite mistakes and distractions—to learn something new.
- 2nd Grade: apply what they've learned to give advice to someone having a hard time acquiring a new skill.
- 3rd Grade: use a handout to make a practice plan for a skill they want to get better at.
- 4th Grade: apply the goal-setting process to a group goal and reflect on how it went.
- 5th Grade: apply the goal-setting process to a personal goal and reflect on how it went.
