Lincoln Bulletin-updates
Lincoln Parents:
It’s hard to believe that the school year will start in about two weeks. I can’t wait to have children in the building again - it’s been much too long without all of their smiling faces!
I know many of you have questions about what everything will look like throughout the day when school resumes. We have had many teams working throughout the summer to make plans for every possible scenario and detail. We want to make sure that we get everything set up in the safest way possible, so as plans are finalized they will be shared with you.
Here are a few things that I can share with you at this time:
Students will be entering and exiting through grade-level assigned doors, please see the attached map indicating classroom doors. Teachers will show students at our supply drop off next week. There will be no communal gathering on the morning of the first day - students will head straight to their classroom doors at 7:50. These doors are labeled in the attached map.
We will have a “staggered dismissal” so that all students will not be on our sidewalks at the same time or exiting the same doors at similar times. Only buses will be allowed to use Indiana as has been done in the past.
We will have a kindergarten introduction to Lincoln next week for our in-person students on Wednesday, August 12-more information will be sent to the kindergarten parents later this week.
We will have a condensed supply drop off late next week, Thursday, August 13 from 8:30-9:30. Below is a graphic with more information regarding supply drop off. Only students will be able to enter the building due to safety guidelines and they will enter the front door and exit the door they will use daily to enter the school, please refer to the attached map.
Upon the end of the supply drop off session, their classroom teacher will walk their students out of the door students will need to enter the first day. These are labeled on the attached map.
All supplies will be used by the student only - there will be no community supplies this year (with the exception of things like paper towels, wipes, etc.).
For our students learning remotely, teachers will reach out to let parents know what is needed, and we will communicate whole school information to all.
We are planning a material pick up for remote learners, more information will be coming in the next week.
All students will receive devices if they don’t already have them from the Spring. K-1 will have iPads and 2-5 will have Chromebooks. For those students who are learning remotely, there will be a time set up to get devices.
Please complete the Social-Emotional questionnaire using the information below, supporting all social-emotional needs is a priority this year this initial information can help support our work this year for both in-person and remote.
I know this is already a lot of information. I’ve also included a document that might be helpful when packing your child’s lunch and practicing wearing a mask. The teachers would appreciate all the help they can get so that they don’t need to open difficult containers for everyone at lunchtime.
I will continue to keep you updated over the next week so that you have the information you need to start the school year. We look forward to seeing all of our students rejoin us soon.
Enjoy your weekend!

Please complete the below survey
St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 strives to provide all students with learning experiences that are responsive and help students learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As part of this commitment, we are asking students to respond to a survey on their social and emotional wellness. As we plan for the 2020-2021 school year, this information will provide guidance to our schools about the social and emotional strengths and needs of our students.
The survey will be open from July 28, 2020 through August 8, 2020 and students in grades 2-12 will be asked to complete the survey. Early Childhood-grade 1 students will take the survey as part of the school day.
The survey will be available on a tool called the Personalized Learner Profile (PLP), where students will see the survey on the “Social Emotional Learning” tile. In order to access the survey, please follow the below steps:
Go to www.ecriss.com. If prompted to login, click on “Login with Google” and login using your D303 credentials.
When you see your child’s picture/name on the left hand side of the screen, you will also see the Social Emotional Learning tile. Click on the button underneath to take the survey.
If needed, students may change the survey language to Spanish by clicking on the button on the top right of the screen.
Students may click on the speaker icon at the end of each question to have the question read aloud. Please make sure the sound is turned on and up.
Answer all survey questions. Students may leave the survey and come back to it if needed.
Once all survey questions are answered, submit the survey.
If needed, a video that illustrates how to login and take the survey is posted here.
We understand that parents may want to sit with their child and assist in understanding the survey questions; however, we ask that the child provide the answer to each question. Thank you for your continued support.
