Invitations to Outside Events
Reminder...additional before school activities are occurring.
Previously, we sent a message regarding car rider lines. Click HERE to read again. We kindly requested that our families do not enter the car rider line until 7:30 a.m. to ease the traffic for our Spring Creek Oaks residents and allow our staff to enter the parking lot to park since student arrival and entry to our building does not begin until 7:30 a.m.
Before school extracurricular activities have begun and we wanted to remind you to refrain from entering our car rider line until 7:30 a.m. This will allow our parents who are dropping off students for activities before school to exit. If you arrive early and are parked in the car rider line they can not exit. We do not have a double lane.
For your reference here is the schedule:
Choir: Mondays and Fridays-choir begins at 7:15 a.m. (Choir practice as begun.)
5th Grade Strings: Tuesdays and Thursdays-begins at 7:00 a.m. (Start date: October 14) More information should be coming soon from the middle school strings teacher.
Jogging Club: Mondays at 7:15 a.m. for 1st and 2nd graders; Wednesdays at 7:15 a.m. for 3rd-5th graders.
Parents of students participating in these events: please drop off your child on time and at the beginning of the start time so that you can exit the car rider line.
Thank you in-advance to the families who do not have students participating in the extracurricular activities for not entering the car rider line until 7:30 a.m. and for keeping your child in the car until 7:40 a.m. when students may begin to enter the building and we have staff on duty.

Smart Tags and more! New Information!
The district purchased the first lanyard, card and plastic cover for every student. The school staff has placed them on your child's backpack where instructed by Klein ISD Transportation Department. Please do not remove them unless you need to attach to a new backpack. If your child is new to Kuehnle he/she will be receiving their first set in the near future as soon as new smart tags have been delivered to the campus.
Parents will be required to pay for replacement cards, plastic protective covers, or lanyards if they are broken, lost, or stolen. Every student is required to have a Smart Tag.
Replacement costs are as follows:
-lanyard = $2.00
-plastic protective cover = $1.00
-Smart Tag = $5.00
Parents will be contacted by our front office staff when a replacement is needed. Parents will need to pay for the replacement via School Cash Online. You will find the link on our Kuehnle webpage and here: https://www.schoolcashonline.com/
Once payment has been received the front office will provide the replacement. Parents will continue to receive reminders until the fee is paid. Remember, this is a requirement for all elementary students who ride the bus even once.
Dismissal - Safety is our Priority!
Parents, please help us with the following:
Car Riders:
1. Official school car rider number tags must be displayed in the front windshield.
If you do not have a car rider tag, please proceed to the front office to get your child for dismissal. Your number will not be entered for release of your child to the car rider line.
2. Please keep your car rider number tag displayed until our child gets in your car. After your child enters your car, please remove your carpool card from the windshield. This is our signal that your child is loaded.
3. Please be patient in the car line. Remember that SAFETY is always a priority at Kuehnle. Be mindful that students are still moving until we give the go ahead to move cars forward.
4. Please refrain from using your cell phone in a School Zone, including waiting in the car rider line. There are Texas State Laws which prohibit the use of cell phones while in a school zone.
Walkers/Bike Riders:
1. Walkers will be issued a ‘dismissal card’ by their teacher
2. Walkers will turn this card in to the staff member on duty at the assigned walker exit. This will be the student’s ‘ticket’ to leave the school building at the end of each day.
3. Walkers do not walk to cars in the parking lot. Any student leaving school grounds in a car must be picked up in the Car Rider line.
4. For safety reasons, do not park your car in the parking lot during dismissal unless you are required to come into the building.
Bus Riders:
Students will receive a bus card which must be attached to his/her backpack the entire year. Please do not remove this card.
Bus Rules:
· Student must remain seated at all times.
· Students must keep hands, feet and objects to themselves.
· Refer to the Klein ISD Student Handbook for a more detailed list.
Parents, please plan ahead with your child for rainy days. Consider packing a raincoat or umbrella for them to use.
All changes to a student’s regular means of dismissal must be received in the front office by 2:45 pm.
New Contact Email
We have A NEW email address for ALL of your early dismissals, and change of transportation requests. Please use this email address moving forward: Kuehnlefrontdesk@kleinisd.net .
ATTENDANCE
Dear Kuehnle Families,
We hope that all our students can be present every day, however, we understand that there are circumstances that prevent a student from being able to attend school. When needing to report your child’s absence please remember the following:
- We are unable to accept absent notes sent using Remind, text messages or other media sources.
- The preferred method to report an absence is through the Skyward system. Click HERE for how to report the absence using Family access. Click HERE for how to use the App.
If your child has been seen by a medical professional, please supply the medical excuse to Mrs. Buzonas by sending it with your child when they return to school, by Fax (832-484-7870) or by attaching it to an email to bbuzonas1@kleinisd.net.
USE OF CELLPHONES DURING SCHOOL
Please note the following information regarding the use of cell phones during school. This information is from the 2021- 2022 KISD Elementary Student Handbook.
“Possession of cell phones and pagers is only allowed if they are turned off at all times and not visible/physically present during regular school hours, including riding the school bus to school or home from school.
If a student is using any cell phone or pager during the school day or on a school bus to and from school, the school employee observing the student’s use of the device will confiscate it. The school employee will turn over the device to his or her administrator/supervisor. The parent will be notified by the administrator to pick up the device at his/her school during school hours.”
Important Information for Parents

Early Dismissal by 2:45
All early dismissals must occur before 2:45p.m. If you need to pick your child up before the end of the school day please send a note to the front office in the morning.
