21st Century Cyber Charter School Newsletter: January 2021
Notes From Our Principals
We hope you had a wonderful and healthy winter break. With the new year, we’re hoping it will bring a new start for you and within your classes as well! Continue submitting work to reach your goals in Quarter 2. As a reminder Quarter 2 ends at 3:30PM on January 21st. Please reach out to your academic advisor to create a plan to help you end the quarter strong.
With January already here, we have more school virtual events, announcements and competitions coming up. Please make sure to view the calendar on the school website often and to keep checking our social media pages to keep up to date. Check out Moodle for information on how to RSVP to join in on the fun!
And of course, to continue to make the 2020-2021 your best school year yet, keep these ‘New Year’s resolutions’ in mind for success:
Focus forward - let’s look at the current quarter. Don’t let yourself become upset by what ‘could have been’ or ‘might have been’ in the quarters past!
Partner up - find an accountability partner, someone who will check in on you, help you accomplish your goals and get your school work done on time!
Be involved - be involved in your live classes, your clubs, meetings.
Keep your eye on the goal of finishing out this school year strong! Now is the best time to put your best foot forward!
Let’s all charge forward into 2021 together and finish out this school year stronger than ever!
Hello 21CCCS students and families! Happy New Year to Everyone! It is hard to believe that we are almost halfway through the school year - what a great time to focus on the future! The New Year is often a time of reflection and with that reflection comes time to set goals. Setting goals is a healthy and important aspect of our lives. Goals help us strive to be the best version of ourselves and also hold us accountable. They help us grow in multiple aspects of our lives. It is also important for our goals to be realistic, that way they are attainable and we can feel successful.
We encourage you to set goals in the following three areas this January:
A personal goal is something you want to achieve for yourself. Perhaps it is to exercise more so you decide to take a daily walk. Or perhaps it is to get more sleep at night so that you feel more rested and motivated the following day. Personal goals are important because they offer us time to focus on ourselves and grow as individuals.
An educational goal is something that you want to achieve in your schooling. Perhaps it is to pass all of your classes at the end of Quarter 2. Or perhaps it is to join all the Live Labs for your classes.
A social goal is something you want to do that will impact the lives of others. Social goals can include refining your conflict resolution skills and increasing positive peer interactions. They could include joining a club or organization where you are interested in making a difference.
As your school counselors, we are here to support your goals! You are always welcome to stop in the Guidance & Nurse VO and share your 2021 goals with us! We look forward to a great year. We hope that 2021 is filled with brightness, happiness, and health for you and yours!
All the best,
~ Mrs. McCoy, Mrs. Moynihan, Ms. Cooke, Mr. Galiczynski,

Hour of Code
At 11:30am on December 14, 2020, 21CCCS held a school-wide "Hour of Code" as part of an international movement to interest K-12 students in Computer Science careers. Over 80 students from all grades participated with over 20 teacher volunteers to make a video game, meditation app, a personal website, Google doodle, or learn Swift Playground programming. 80% of the students who participated wanted to try a Computer Science course in the future!
Community Feedback Forum
The Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and Interim CEO, Brian Cote, will be holding a monthly 21CCCS Community Feedback Forum for both parents and students. This will be an opportunity to learn about the process of the school’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Parents and students are encouraged to share information on things that have been going well for our school, as well as ideas/suggestions to move our school forward. This forum will not be a question/answer session. If parents or students have questions during the forum, our staff will work to respond to those questions in our monthly Flex Gazette.
