Final Exam Schedule & Exam Exemption Information

RCPS High School students have the opportunity to earn the ability to exempt a semester exam in one or more of their classes. Please review the important information below with your student ahead of First Semester 9th-12th grade final exams scheduled for December 20-22nd. Eligible students will need to complete and return the form to the front office at Rockdale Magnet School or email it to MagnetOffice@rockdale.k12.ga.us between December 11th and Friday, December 15th at noon.
Celebrating Distinction at RMSST
Science Team earns Top 10 Awards at Two Tournaments
Congratulations to science team on their performance at the last two Science Olympiad competitions.
The team competed in a huge national tournament (over 240 teams), the Rickards Invitational on 11/18.
- Please congratulate Andrew Land and Isabella Waller for earning a 6th Place for Scrambler.
Last Saturday, the team also travelled to UGA for their invitational against 35 other teams.
Please congratulate the following students for their top 10 results.
- 5th Place Fossils – Matthew McCoy and Daniel Nguyen
- 6th Place Forestry – Allison Huynh and Kayla Holland
- 8th Place Chem Lab – Kathyrn Stoltz and Amber Le
- 8th Place Flight – Kathryn Stoltz and Trinity James
- 10th Place Tower – Eric Stephens and Joel Gayle
- 10th Place Flight – Emily Grace Royal and Skye Chandler
A big thanks to Ms. Kennen for being head coach of Science Team. Also, thank you to Ms. Jones and Ms. Christie for their efforts in chaperoning the team.
16 Magnet students will represent RCPS in next level of Governors Honors Program process
Congratulations to our 16 students who were selected as district nominees for the Governors Honors Program (GHP)! Learn more about GHP at https://gosa.georgia.gov/governors-honors-program. Current 9th and 10th graders are encouraged to learn more now as they can be nominated for next year's process.
Ethan Barlay chosen for Youth LEAD Georgia Program
RMSST Junior Ethan T. Barlay, has been selected for the inaugural 2024 Youth LEAD Georgia program!
The program is a partnership between the University of Georgia J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, Chick-fil-A, and Rodney Bullard’s The Same House organization. Youth LEAD Georgia is designed to equip youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to be the future leaders of our state.
Ethan is one of thirty 10th- and 11th-graders who were selected by an external committee from more than 300 nominations received by the Fanning Institute.

Sign up to attend our end-of-semester Dessert Potluck Social hosted by Project ASO
You're Invited! Project ASO, the Asian Student Organization at RMSST, would like to invite all Magnet students to join us for an end of semester dessert potluck social and celebration.
Please sign up below by Friday, December 8th. The only fee to enter is to bring a dessert and/or candy to share. We'd love if you could bring a dessert and/or candy that represents your culture.
Event Details:
Date- Friday. December 15th
Time- 3:15-4:45pm (please ensure rides arrive by 5pm)
Location- Magnet Cafetorium
Cost- Free entry with dessert/candy brought to share
Deadline to register- Friday, December, 8th at 10pm

- First class to 1,000 earns a popsicle dance party.
- Class with largest number of books read by April wins prize.
We will continue tracking progress on the bulletin board by the breezeway exit to the Square.
