A Note From the Principal

Most of you are done testing. We have two groups to test May 8th and 9th. You should be really proud of the work you have put in this week. I know the results will be fantastic. Thank you for being flexible when the schedule changed. Thank you for sacrificing and all the other things you did to help out with test. You guys rock! Now, let's finish out the year strong. We are almost done.

Our PTA Rocks - They Took Home the Gold

This weekend Freedom Park's PTA attended the Richmond County Council of PTA's annual EOY meeting. The team and Freedom Park School won several awards.

1. Melissa Gracia was appointed as the Secretary/Treasurer for the District 8 PTA

2. Freedom Park - 1st Place Best Idea for Juvenile Diabetes

3. 2nd Place Mary Archer Award (its a surprise so I can't list name)

4. Dr. Singh - 1st Place Outstanding Principal Award

5. 1st Place Outstanding Educator Award - (its a surprise so I can't list name)

6. 1st Place Male Involvement Award

7. 100% Faculty and Staff Participation/Membership Award

8. Freedom Park - District 8 Oak Tree Award

Kindergarten Round-Up

All RCSS Elementary Schools

Time: 9:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.

Kindergarten Round-up offers Kindergarten students and their parents a peek inside the school and is the official enrollment day for incoming Kindergarteners. Schools will have an opportunity to pre-assess student readiness as a planning tool for the new class. We want to make this is fun and engaging experience for these new students.

First Annual Fun Run - May 5th - 17th

PARENTS! To give your child the best educational experience possible, we’re excited to raise funds for Freedom Park School! And we’re hosting a Fun Run to make that happen. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving pledges toward the number of laps your student will run on the day of the Fun Run on May 17th .

Our 2-week Fun Run program kicks off on May 8th . Plus, leading up to the Fun Run, students will learn how to make a difference in their world through an unbelievable character theme, Backyard Box Office. HELP Freedom Park School IN 4 STEPS!

1. Register on FUNRUN.COM on May 8th .

2. Connect to sponsors—friends and family who can donate to help our school.

3. Cheer on your child! (Come to the Fun Run on May 17th)

4. Collect! Pledge money is due one week after the run. Checks are payable to the school.

EOY Process - Parents Please Be Aware

May 11th we will send home "student charge notices". Please be on the look out for any over due charge slips in the student's folders or book bags.

Camp I.V.E.Y

Camp I.V.E.Y is now accepting applications for summer camp. The camp is for students ages 8-14. Scholarships are available. Please contact the Family Y at (706) 922-9622 or visit the website for additional information.

The Parent Academy

Looking to sharpen your parenting skills and have a good relationship with your children? Fort Gordon Army Community Service, Family Advocacy Program presents a series of 12 workshops covering different aspects of raising children! Sign-up for one or all twelve!! Summer School

The Richmond County School System will offer a variety of summer programs for students this year. The focus of the elementary summer school program is to provide targeted students with intensive support in Reading and Mathematics. Middle and High school students will have the opportunity to take specific courses for promotion or to remain on track for cohort graduation. Summer School employment information is located on the Human Resources site of district website.
