Wander the Omni Room and visit our Poster Sessions. BISD Teachers will spotlight how they are integrating technology at their campus in innovative ways to advance student engagement and learning. Teachers will share their specific success stories with the attendees who walk through this informative and immediately relevant interactive session. MAP

Take time to explore our elementary and secondary digital workstations. This hands on experience will allow you the opportunity to try out some great tools you can implement in your classroom. MAP


8:00-1:30pm - BCTAL Entrance

Swing by the #WHYITEACH photo booth. Share what motivates you to teach, from inspiring moments in the classroom, to challenges that push you. Social media is a great way to share stories to inspire other teachers and amplify teacher voices. Fill out a #WHYITEACH talk bubble and snap a photo holding your story bubble. We will share your pics on social media as part of the Teacher 2 Teacher story telling project sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. MAP

Get Googling: GAFE for Admin (Admin only)

9:00-10:30am - Room 303 - PRESENTATION MATERIALS

District administrators of all levels are encouraged to participate in this hands-on session to explore the variety of Google tools that will make every BISD administrator’s life easier. Please bring your BISD Google account password with you and be prepared to get Googling! MAP

Leaders, Leveraging the Power of Social Media (Admin only)

Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Facebook and other social media platforms have the potential to amplify access to resources that fuel personal and professional development in ways never before possible. In a global economy, professionals cannot confine themselves to purely local connections. Success increasingly depends on the breadth, depth and quality of our PLNs — and the social tools and environments where they’re taking place. District administrators of all levels are encouraged to participate in this hands-on session to learn how to grow your PLN through social media. MAP

Mrs. Jessica Sandoval


Jessica will be sharing the transformation her campus has experienced moving from having little computer/digital resources to utilizing the BISD Bond provided equipment. She will discuss the change in culture that she has helped orchestrate in order for teachers to embrace the new technologies, be successful in their planning for learning, and increase the professional collaboration and sharing (bragging) that is currently found at DES. MAP

Lot of Swag to be given away. Must be present to win. Prizes will also be awarded for the campus with the largest percentage of participants! MAP
