In math, we will continue in Unit 4-Long Division and Fractions. We will finish up reviewing long division on Wednesday. We will begin our fraction section on Thursday. Some students will complete math activities on Skills Navigator through NWEA (link is found on our Canvas Conduct page) or Think Through Math because they tested so high on the pre-test. Students working on Think Through Math will join back in on the Math lessons when we review adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. I will inform students on Thursday and send the pre-test home with a note.
In Writing, we will start our next unit of study-Biographies. We will begin by studying mentor text of biographies.
In Language Arts, we will take the test over Unit 4 on Monday, January, 11. Your child received a study guide that we reviewed on Friday in class. We will then start Unit 5-Pronouns.
In Reading, we will continue Unit 6-Cause and Effect and Drawing Conclusions. Miss Erler and I will continue Fountas and Pinnell leveling each student for their current reading level (I will indicate this on the next report card).
In Social Studies, we will continue our project for Unit 4-Colony brochures. Your child will develop a travel brochure based on one of the early colonies (New England, Middle, or Southern).
