Technologies Impact...
Mrs. Reighley used Google Slides to have her students create a collaborative slide show where each student contributed. the end result was inspiring and creative. She also was able to use technology (and her husband's volunteering) to teach empathy. Her Viking Valor classes were able to Skype with her husband who was helping in the efforts to clean up after the flooding in Louisiana.
Coach Hill has been using Formative in combination with Google Classroom to give quizzes to his students. I watch him as he walked around and saw the answers in real time.
Last, but not least, Coach Vitolas turned a paper and pen activity that he does into a fully digital Google Classroom activity. His students used Classroom to upload, answer, and turn in a current events assignment.
It is hard to believe this is only the third week of school. Keep up the amazing and innovating work. And please let me know when you are doing some thing amazing.

I am born and bred a Houstonian, but my heart has been in the Hill Country since I was little. After completing school at the University of Houston this past May, my husband and I and our two boys moved to Lago Vista. We have a fifth grader at LVIS and a Kindergartner at LVES. Lago Vista has exceeded our expectations. We are particularly enjoying the incredible scenery, especially when compared to Houston’s concrete, chemical plants, ships, smog, 24/7 traffic and extreme hustle and bustle. The only thing we miss is the family we left behind (and there are a lot of them!).
From UH I received a bachelor’s degree and certification in Curriculum and Instruction for 4-8 Science, but I am interested in all areas of Education and all are equally important. Coming from a family of educators, I have a passion for learning and I soak things up like a sponge. If people had borders, I would say mine never stop expanding. In my spare time you can find me reading, daydreaming, hanging out with my husband and kiddos, drumming up an adventure, or pondering the secrets of the universe. ;-)

However, it was nullified by a block in the back behind the ball carrier and the Vikings were then intercepted by the Hawks on the next play to end the drive. The Vikings gave a little ground and then stiffened on defense with Jeremy Hill, Hayden Chapman, Logan Parsons, Tony Reyes and Mickey D’Ambrose making tackles. The next possession for the Vikings had Logan Parsons scamper 50yds for a touchdown. D’Ambrose had a driving block downfield. The two pt. pass from Phillips to Chapman was good.
