An MSD Staff Communication that Cuts out the Clutter!
June 1, 2022
We are heartbroken and horrified over the senseless tragedy that took place in Uvalde, Texas. Our deepest sympathies go out to their families and community. Events like this are not only tragic and painful, but can often lead to anxiety and fear felt by our entire school community. We understand that our students and staff may need additional support during this time, and we have support services in place and available to those who may be struggling. Families, please contact your school for assistance; staff, please connect with your supervisor. Read the rest of the message here.
Main Thing 1: Graduations Details
Graduation is quickly approaching! We have four incredible graduations scheduled, click here for details. All graduations will be at Spiegelberg Stadium and live streamed for those who can’t physically attend. Please join us in congratulating the Class of 2022!
Main Thing 2: Community Congrats at Grad Walk
Our Annual Grad Walk is also taking place this week! Grad Walk is where seniors get to wear their caps and gowns and walk the halls of their former middle and elementary schools. They see their former teachers and staff, and inspire future grads! This year we are giving families and the community an opportunity to take part in Grad Walk at our Community Congrats! This is a chance for you to cheer on the class of 2022. Watch for a stream of yellow buses filled with students as they drive on Jackson Street from 10:10-10:20. You can park in the Medford Center or Hawthorne Park. We hope to see you there - making some noise for our seniors!
Main Thing 3: First Day of School Info
Before you turn on your summer brain, we want to let you know the first day of school is August 29 and August 30. The calendar is linked here. Don’t forget, that is also the week of Kindergarten Soft Start where kindergarteners will be invited in for special sessions at their school. The first official day for kindergarteners is September 1.
