Our Lady of the Rosary School: October 22-29, 2023
School's Mission Statement
We at Our Lady of the Rosary along with our parents, exist to serve God through educating and nurturing the whole child. We will be held accountable for our faith and loyalty through consistency, leadership, and service to Christ. Our goal as a community is to academically challenge our students and to instill a sense of leadership, service, humility, and compassion.
Warrior's 2023-24 News
Medical Leave
Last week was full of emotion and anxiety because of what was happening in our world. We want to protect our kids from the pain and suffering we are witnessing, but Christ is the only person to turn to when it is out of our control. The Blessed Sacrament visited each classroom two weeks ago, giving us the grace and strength to leave our suffering at His feet.
We are privileged to have our heavenly Queen's weapon, "The Holy Rosary," is our spiritual weapon here at our school. The Rosary conquers the evil one. It preaches about Jesus Christ's life and is a meditational prayer that brings us peace.
Let's Pray the Rosary Daily for Peace on Earth!
I highly recommend downloading the Hallow App on your phone. At night, I use the Hallow App to listen to the word of God and pray the Rosary.
God Bless,
Mrs. Rivas

Unexcused Absences
Hello parents,
The first quarter grades will be closing this Friday, October 27. Emails were sent to parents of students who had missing assignments. Please get in touch with your child's teacher about these assignments. Be aware that these assignments that were due also have a time limit. Please read the policy shared with you at the beginning of the year.
I appreciate your support,
Mrs. Rivas
Unexcused Absences Policy
Absences are considered excused when a doctor’s note is provided. When no doctor’s note is presented, the absence is considered unexcused. Students will be accountable for all classwork, homework, and notes taken in class when they are not present. If, by chance, a quiz, exam, or project is scheduled, the student must complete the task within 24-48 hours of being back. Not being in school is not an excuse for not taking a planned test.
Please plan vacation days accordingly so students do not miss crucial learning. The school cannot be held accountable for grades that reflect a student who misses school consistently.
Attendance: Under Archdiocesan policy, a student absent fifteen (15) or more days in a quarter will not be issued a report card and must attend summer school. If a child is absent more than thirty (30) or more days during the school year, he or she will be retained in the same grade because you still need to meet the requirements for your grade. The County Board of Education requires principals to report the severance of attendance by any student.
Hola padres,
Communication Log
Communication Logs Our Lady of the Rosary school has implemented the log as communication between teachers, parents, and students. It informs students and parents about behaviors and work habits in class and school. In addition, the record allows for the school and parent to work in partnership in their child’s education.
By the end of each week, your child will be taking their logs home to be signed by their parent. As a parent, take time to speak to your child about their behavior and work habits and how you as a parent can help your child improve or model good work habits. Students in grades 1st-8th will be taking home conduct logs every Friday. It needs to be signed by the parent and returned the next school day. The teacher will send the student to the office to call the parent to come and sign the log. If the parent can’t come, we will ask the parent to email the teacher that they have seen the log, and it will be returned on the following day signed. After two unsigned weeks, students will be given after-school detention. After three unsigned weeks, the teacher will request a meeting before or after school.

Once again, the school will be offering a comprehensive school-based counseling program and support services at no additional cost for this service. Parents, teachers, staff, or students themselves can request to see a counselor. An informed consent form needs to be signed by the parent/guardian to begin the process. A signed informed consent form is NOT a request/referral for counseling. However, getting the parental signature ahead of time speeds up the process for our counselors to begin providing counseling to our students.
