WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING THIS WEEK IN TUTOR TIME?
This week in tutor time our students in Years 7 – 10 have been continuing to look at the 5 Ways to Wellbeing related to the element connect
Year 7 – Positive Thinking
Year 8 – Body Image
Year 9 –Eating Disorders
Year 10 - Self-Harm

With the Year 11 GCSE exams nearly upon us, the Year 11 students have been spending tutor time revising using some of the techniques learnt previously.
Assemblies this week have been focused around Mental Health Awareness Week and linked to what’s been covered in tutor time.
Attendance
We are delighted that our overall attendance continues to be 92%.
Parents are required to contact the school by 8:00 am each day of absence.

SCHOOL UNIFORM DONATIONS
Please send into school any good quality school uniform donations you have for our pre-loved uniform shop. These can be dropped off at reception. Thank you.
WORK EXPERIENCE YEAR 10
Good luck to our Year 10 students who are due to go out on Work Experience for one week from 22/05/23.
We hope you all have a great experience. We will be in contact with every student throughout the week.

YEAR 10 POST 16 CAREERS
Our Year 10 Post 16 workshops are well under way. The students are learning about Apprenticeships, Colleges, Sixth Form Colleges and Traineeships. Our Careers Lynne Pembroke is giving the students the tools to be able to think about what they want to do as a future career.
One to one meetings will commence during the Autumn term if the students have requested one.

YEAR 10 GEOGRAPHY RESIDENTIAL TO THE PEAK DISTRICT
Letters will be given to the students this week with a green consent form which needs to be completed and returned to your Geography teacher or the Humanities Office.
Please return the form by Friday 26th May.
YEAR 11 FOOD PREPARATION AND NUTRITION
Year 11 Food Preparation and Nutrition students enjoyed a 'Food Science Cooked Breakfast' revision lesson this week. Once students had prepared their breakfast, they identified Key terms and Food Science reactions which had taken place during the cooking.

ART WORK OF THE WEEK
YEAR 11 MATHS EXAM BREAKFAST CLUBS
The maths department will be running a series of breakfast clubs each morning of the maths exam.
We are encouraging year 11 students to drop in at any time to make sure they are prepared for the exam (equipment/calculator etc). Any questions or topics they have been stuck on can be worked on and there will be a selection of exam style questions they can use to warm up their brains!
These will be in N32 and a member of the maths team will be there from 7:45 to welcome them.
Dates of exams: 19th May - Non Calculator, and 7th June and 14th June (both calculator papers).
