Copyright Law
What is Copyright?
Copyright is when you take someone else's work and put your own design to it.
It is against the law to take someones work and edit it without asking for their permission.
Rules of Copyright
The general rule is that you can’t use a copyrighted image without express authorization from the owner.
You're not aloud to publicly show your design without asking for authorization.
The Consequences of Copyright
Essentially, you could be sued. The copyright holders may be entitled to $750 - $30,000 per work under US copyright law. Many copyright holders, such as the RIAA, often chose to offer a settlement to the alleged infringe, but this is their choice and should not necessarily be expected.
