A Message From The Principal
Today marks the official last day of this semester. All work should be in and grades are being finalized. I'm excited at the number of credits that some of our students earned this semester. If a student did just the required work they had a potential of earning 8 credits. We will continue with the same rotation of courses going into second semester. Students again will be assigned 2 courses a rotation to minimize the need to focus on several courses at once.
As you heard in the Superintendent's weekly call all students will remain completely virtual from January 4 through February 12th. Students will tentatively be able to return to in person learning February 17th. Please pay close attention to calls and mailings going out to stay up-to-date on the district restart plan.
When Renaissance students return to school virtually January 4, all students will follow a "synchronous" schedule meaning they will be expected to follow their school schedule from home as if they were in the building. Below you will find specific times students who attend in the AM should log on each period and times specific to PM students and when they should log on. Attendance will be taken each period. Students not logging on to assigned zoom times during their specific period will be marked absent. Your student should check their emails for invites to new canvas courses and Zoom link information.
AM Schedule/Live Instruction From Teachers via Zoom
Period 1 9:00-10:15
Period 2 10:16-11:55
PM Schedule/Live Instruction From Teachers via Zoom

If you have questions on whether or not your student is an AM or PM student please reach out directly to the school at 317-532-2996 or email our Guidance Counselor Ms. Nassar at jnassar@warren.k12.in.us.
As always thank you for allowing me to serve your students. Have a safe and happy holiday.

Parent & Caregiver Resource Site
Warren Township Family & Caregiver Resources is "live" and ready. We understand that parents and caregivers want to learn how to help their students be successful in school and these resources allow our parents and caregivers to have a "location" to visit where they can access tutorials/information on how to navigate digital tools used in our schools and to seek support.
Student Success Handbook!
5-8
Warren Parents and Caregivers, here is the link to our Student Success Handbook. This handbook is updated every year to include information about how we keep students and staff safe at school, along with resources for families to access as well as information on district procedures and policies. This handbook is also shared with students. Please take a moment to review and complete this as acknowledgement that you have received the handbook. Please reach out if you have any questions.
District Covid-19 Data
MSD Warren Township COVID-19 data will be updated and shared each Friday on our district website which can be accessed HERE. Included in this data are the number of positive cases by school/facility as well as the total number of individuals (students and staff) who were required to isolate or quarantine. Individuals that are in isolation may or may not have COVID-19 and may or may not have been exposed within Warren schools/facilities. Isolation and quarantine are used to slow the spread of COVID-19.
**These numbers do not mean that a school or facility is unsafe for students and staff, rather that precautionary steps are being taken to protect all students and staff. We will continue to communicate with staff and families if they are identified as a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case.

Need Help with Navigating Canvas....Check out the enclosed video!
The video below is a tutorial on how to access Canvas and to navigate it. Thank you to WCHS Math Teacher, Mrs. Julie Ritchie for this easy to understand video.
Please note: The video is an example from an Algebra 1 class. You may not be in this class or have this teacher, but it is will still help you with any of your classes.
School District Publications/News Media Use
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognition if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
Immunizations Reminders
In order for our schools to be in compliance with the state laws regarding immunizations, please make sure that your student(s) have their updated information on file with your school's nursing staff.
Students attending in person must have updated immunization records on file to attend or have communicated to nurse or administration that an appointment has been scheduled. All virtual students vaccines must be on file and up to date by January 4, 2021, to avoid exclusion.
Please make your school's nursing staff aware of any upcoming appointments for vaccines, or if there are any medical or religious objections to your student receiving his or her vaccines
Also, PLEASE inform your school's nurse of any chronic health conditions that the school should be made aware of, and that your student's medical emergency information is up to date.

New Student Information System-- Synergy
Warren is excited to announce that we have upgraded to a new student information system called Synergy. This means that our old parent portal, Tyler, will be going away. Instead, the parent portal will be upgraded to Synergy’s ParentVUE. ParentVUE is an online tool to help you monitor your student’s education. It allows you to update contact information and provides you with access to the latest information about your child’s attendance and scheduling. Our middle and high school families can view class assignments, report card grades, and course history with ParentVUE.
Once ParentVUE is available, parents who have a previous Tyler account will receive an email with instructions about setting up your new username and password. If you do not have a Tyler SIS account, please complete a registration form located on our parent portal webpage and return it to your school to begin the process of activating your account.
ParentVUE is a great way to stay connected with your student's school and track their academic progress. It also helps us stay in contact with you!
Chromebooks! Please Bring Your Device Daily!
In an attempt to keep students safe we are asking that students bring their individual devices from home to school daily. There will be no sharing of Chromebooks. Chromebooks will not be available in classrooms. Students will need to bring their devices, charging chords, and cases everyday to school.
