Ring Leader Tidbits
~ Thank you to everyone who participated in the planning meeting this week! It was a very productive meeting, and we got a lot accomplished. Thank you to each person who represented their team/department in order to make the best decisions possible for next school year.
~ CONGRATULATIONS to Erika Licari on the birth of her baby boy! Although her husband posted on FB that he was 12 lbs, he was actually 8 lbs and 13 oz! Both baby boy and mom are doing great! We wish her all the best as she begins her maternity leave today!!
~As we begin wrapping up the year, remember to look on the sign out sheets to ensure everything is completed. I know we have mentioned this before, but if you have items stored in other classrooms (not your own) that are vacant, make sure you get them now...otherwise they may not be there when we return. Summer clean out will take place, and several people will be moving classrooms to accommodate students more effectively. Vacant classrooms have become pseudo "storage" rooms, and we have to ensure this isn't the case.
~ The EMS Reading Festival is tonight (Tuesday) at all the high schools! Our feeder campus is Boswell, so please encourage your students to attend! The Reading Festival begins at 5:00!
~ This Thursday is field day. Make sure to review the schedule from Melanie. Sack lunches will be provided from the cafeteria, since the students will be participating during normal lunch times.
~ Next week is jam packed with a holiday on Monday, awards on Tuesday+ play it safe, talent show on Wednesday + early release, and awards/end of year parties+ early release on Friday. So, looking at the schedule, Tuesday is really the only day we can have specials. That day, specials will run as normal, but 5th grade and 2nd grade will switch times (since 2nd grade awards are at 10:00). Thanks for your flexibility!
~ This year, the last 2 days of school are 1/2 days. This means that there isn't a full work day/check-out day like in years past. End of the year LPACs have been scheduled for the 29th during the afternoon, and everyone is expected to be on campus until at least 3:00 pm on that day, in case meetings come up, etc.
School Bulletin
~ Remind your parents to register their students online!! If they're current students, they need to complete the online VERIFICATION process. This will assist immensely as we work to prepare class lists for the upcoming year.
~ While separating out class lists, please collaborate with Emily/Stephanie to determine SPED students and classroom placements. They can assist a lot, especially now that we have a draft of the master schedule for next year, to help determine who needs to be in the same room. Also, remember to cluster our PACE students (no less than 3 per room).
~ If you have parents inquire about STAAR scores, please let them know they are expected on June 4th. They will receive an email from the district and will be available to view on the Skyward parent portal. Since this is after the students get out, they will not be getting phone calls, so they will need to know where to access their results when they come in. For 5th grade re-testers, we will be calling them to let them know, since that will determine summer school or not.
~ Next week is busy with awards, end of the year parties, talent show, and 2 half-days. We're almost there...just continue to push through and stay positive! You all are amazing!!
