Final Exam Schedule Next Week

Please take a careful look at our Finals Schdule for the week of Dec. 13 and our last week of the Fall Semester (hard to believe this is here so quickly!)

Monday 12/13 is a late start Collaboration Schedule (as usual).

Final Exams Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday:

Please note all traffic and parking will be affected since our finals schedule is different than our regular day schedule.

Students may attend campus on periods when they do not have a class period and check in at our Study Halls (see main office for locations).

NOTE the end time each day is 12:30 p.m. If a student needs to leave early, as always, bring a note from parent to Attendance in the morning and get a pass to leave campus. DO NOT TEXT PARENT AND JUST LEAVE CAMPUS. YOU WILL BE MARKED TRUANT. This is true every school day, not just Finals week.

We hope you end the semester strong--check out our Tutoring schedule if you need to attend and talk with your teachers. Look at your grades and see what is "missing" or not turned in. You may have grade worthy "gold" in your backpack! Let's go Wolf Pack ...we got this!

Safety for All: the SafetyNet Program

We are proud to share with you this short video from the San Diego Police Foundation's Cyber Awareness Presentation to ENS classes at West Hills earlier this year.

Titled "Safety for All: the SafetyNet Program" and featuring the outstanding never ending work of the San Diego Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, in partnership with the San Diego Sheriff Department and many other local police agencies, the presentation reviewed with our students the need to protect themselves and their identities online. Many online predators exist and look to use students for not only online harm, but economic and even physical harm, and our students are at risk if they are not alert and aware of the dangers.

We hope you will take the time to view the video, consider the information, and discuss it with your student(s). We want them to be safe and educated in all areas of their lives.

Questions? Please reach out to the ICAC Task Force website.

Be well Wolf Pack!

Attendance Reminder

Please remember to call our 24 hour Attendance line 619-956-0434 for any full day absences for students, particularly with COVID related absences. For any partial day absences, students bring a written note to attendance prior to leaving campus or when returning from off campus. Students MUST always have a pass to leave campus or state law requires us to mark them truant. Please direct your student to go to Attendance or the Nurse as needed if they need to leave campus for any reason. Parent and student should not text each other and leave campus without a pass. Thank you.

Moved? Changed Phone Number? Update your information in the Parent Portal

If you have changed your address or your phone number while enrolled at West Hills, please remember to let the school know by updating your Parent Portal. Call us at 619-956-0400 if you need help with this. In the unlikely event of an Emergency, we need to have your student contact information up to date and correct. Thank you.

Loss of Privilege Policy

Loss of Privilege (LOP) List: This exists to support the idea that our primary function is “Academics First” and that student behaviors and choices need to prioritize attendance and following school rules. Students may earn their way off of the LOP list through attendance at detention and / or Saturday school after talking with their Assistant Principal. They can also lose a privilege that was granted (i.e. serving Saturday School to be eligible to purchase a Dance Ticket, but then repeat actions (or new actions) that put them back on LOP so that attending Dance is no longer available to them and a dance ticket refund is issued).

See our Loss of Privilege Policy HERE.

The Scholarship Club

Students! After graduation, will you be attending a trade school, community college, or 4-year University? If your answer is yes, do you need money to help pay for it? If so, we would like to invite you to attend the Scholarship Club that is hosted by the Counseling Department. At the scholarship club, we will introduce you to scholarship opportunities and provide time to work on scholarship applications under the guidance of a counseling staff member. For additional information, please contact Ms. Womack in the Counseling Office. The club meets Mondays during lunch and period 7 in the College/Career Center (L-1) located across from the library.

Tutorial Schedule

We are happy to share our 2021-22 tutorial schedule for students who are seeking support and assistance in their academic subjects.

Please report to tutorial at the start of the period offered. Students will sign in at each session and these sign-in logs will be submitted to the main office at the conclusion of each week.

If you have questions on whether your student has attended tutorial, please contact an Assistant Principal Secretary at 619-956-0424 or 619-956-0425 or stop by the Administration office.

Asking for help is a sign of STRENGTH Wolf Pack!!
