Lee Harvey Oswald & The CIA
How Are They Connected? The Three Tramps- Really the CIA
Who Was Lee Harvey Oswald?
Oswald later moved to New York. In New York a reformatory psychiatrist, Dr. Renatus Hartogs, described Lee was immersed in a "vivid fantasy life, turning around topics of omnipotence and power, through which [Oswald] tries to compensate for his present shortcomings and frustrations." Oswald then went back to New Orleans with his mother.
Back in New Orleans, Lee entered 10th grade in 1955, but dropped out after one month. His mother moved him to Fort Worth and he re-enrolled in 10th grade at Arlington Heights High School, however he quit school once again and joined the Marines. By the age of 17, Lee Harvey Oswald had resided at 22 different locations and attended 12 different schools.
While Oswald was in the Marines, his primary training was radar operation which was a position which required security clearance. Oswald, just as any other marine, was trained and tested in shooting. He scored 212 in December 1956, which is slightly above the requirements to be considered a sharpshooter. While with the Marines, Oswald was nicknamed Oswaldskovich, due to his frequent pro-Soviet sentiments. Oswald attempted to teach himself Russian while in the Marines. He even took a Marine proficiency exam in written and spoken Russian which his rating was poor. He was discharged on September 11, 1959 claiming his mother needed care.

Why Was Oswald the PERFECT Assassin?
- Oswald already had training. He had been in the marines and he had already once attempted to assassinate Edwin Walker.
- He wanted the publicity. Oswald craved fame. He wanted people to know him and he wanted to make something out of his life. This would be especially helpful considering he believed that the Cubans needed to be treated fairly and he agreed with the Soviets and their political system.
- Oswald killing the President makes it look like he was either acting alone or he was doing it for the Cubans or Soviets. Nobody would suspect the CIA.
- Oswald already owned a gun and he was confident in his abilities.
- Oswald would never give the CIA up because he wanted to be known as the guy who killed the president on his own.
Who Were the "Three Tramps"?
The "three tramps" were three men detained and questioned briefly by police at the time of the assassination and who have been the subject of various conspiracy theories, including some that point to them being known CIA agents.
E. Howard Hunt, a CIA station chief who was involved in the Bay of Pigs Invasion and who later worked as one of President Richard Nixon's White House Plumbers, was alleged by some to be the oldest of the tramps.
Frank Sturgis is thought by some to be the tall tramp in the photographs. Like Hunt, Sturgis was involved both in the Bay of Pigs invasion and in the Watergate burglary. In 1959, Sturgis became involved with Marita Lorenz, who later identified Sturgis as a gunman in the assassination.
Hunt's confession before his death also implicates Sturgis.
Chauncey Holt, also alleged by some to be the oldest of the tramps, claims to have been a double agent for the CIA and the Mafia, and has claimed that his assignment in Dallas was to provide fake Secret Service credentials to people in the vicinity. Witness reports state that there were one or more unidentified men in the area claiming to be Secret Service agents.
