Cougar Pulse
March 2021
Dear Families,
What a week! One year ago today (March 12th, 2020) we found out that we were closing the school due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but at the time we didn't know for how long. Very few would have predicted a full year would have passed before we had our students back in the building again. The unprecedented length of time in distance learning made our return to in-person instruction that much sweeter on March 8th, 2021. It has been a joy to have your children back seated in our classrooms, walking in the halls, and running on the playground!...and they've done a great job following our new health and safety protocols and expectations.
Thank you for all of your support through the challenges of distance learning. I know we're not back to full time with all of our students yet, but we hope to continue providing the best possible education and learning environment we can under whatever circumstances we face. Our number one priority will continue to be the safety and well-being of students and staff.
The Oregon Department of Education released their latest update of Ready Schools, Safe Learners on February 19th, which provides guidance to schools and districts for in-person and hybrid instruction. Another update is expected on March 19th, so stay tuned to local news for details. You can also find resources on our website. Back to School Resources and Safety Protocol Video.
If you have any questions feel free to give us a call anytime from 7:30-3:30, Monday - Friday.
Sincerely,
Jordon Ford
Principal
