My Philosophy of Education
Ashley Peery
My role as a teacher is to create a safe, positive, welcoming environment for students to learn and grow as both musicians and members of society.
My role as a teacher is to provide students with the knowledge to appreciate and perform music.
My role as a teacher is to listen to my students and their needs and base my lessons off of what will be most beneficial to them.
My role as a teacher is to prepare my students by teaching them how to collaborate with others, take direction, have confidence in front of others, and invest in something they love.
I believe that music can be learned by anyone; no one should be excluded from the opportunities to learn and perform music.
It is the role of my students to invest in their education by being actively engaged and providing input as to what they want to learn.
The role of the school and community is to support music education financially through keeping the programs alive, physically by attending programs, and emotionally by encouraging students to engage in music learning.
I aspire to build positive relationships with my students throughout the years that I teach them to provide them with a relationship they can always turn to in times of struggle.
I aspire to create an environment where students can learn to perform for others and communicate without fear of judgement.
I aspire to share music with my students to give them a sense of achievement, soul-fulfillment, and community
I aspire to enrich my students' lives by providing them with diverse learning experiences.
