Faculty Weekly Corner
Wayne Rotella - for those who want to know more:
St. Patrick was an Roman aristocratic child who was kidnapped from his family by pagans from Ireland. His family paid the ransom and secured his release some years later. The Bishop in northern England (Britannia at the time) came to him when he was a young priest and asked him to return to the wild lands of Ireland and convert the pagans to Christianity.Patrick agreed and sailed back to the land of his captors. As he began to teach the Bible and the ways of Christians he used the native flora to help them understand the ideology. The clover, which is associated with Ireland and St. Patrick was the plant he used. It is normally and predominantly a three leaf plant. He used the three leaves to explain The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. So in conclusion, GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS and MANIPULATIVES do work.
Thanks again.
