Important Information about House Bill 4545 Tutorials
In the 2021 Legislative Session, House Bill 4545 was passed which required all students in third grade through high school to have thirty hours of tutoring for each STAAR/ EOC test not passed. BISD responded by making adjustments to the schedule to include time within the school day for tutoring. The Texas Education Agency has provided a list of approved vendors as curriculum providers to work with districts to deliver high-impact tutoring. In the next week, BISD will implement this high-impact tutoring with students in grade six through twelve. Learn more about FEV Tutor and the BISD tutoring program here and at fevtutor.com.

National Honor Society Application Information
It is with excitement that we are approaching the time of year when the Centennial High School Chapter of the National Honor Society will begin to look for our newest members to join us in the 2022-2023 school year. The National Honor Society’s four foundation pillars are scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Our organization invites all sophomores (Class of 2024) and juniors (Class of 2023), who have a 3.5 GPA or higher, and exhibit these four pillars, to complete the application for membership. The application will be 100% online, and will be open February 14, 2022 - March 11. 2022. If you are interested in joining this prestigious organization, and placing yourself along side Centennial High School’s most elite students, please read all information below:
Application Process:
The application is accessible online through the NHS Website. The application assesses each applicant’s scholarship (through their current GPA), leadership experience, service in the school and community, and character (through faculty recommendation forms). On the website, you will find further information detailing the contents of the application process.
Service Opportunities:
Also on the website are opportunities for applicants to earn additional service hours. Aside from scholarship, one of the most crucial aspects of our organization is that each of our members are continuously serving both within the community and the school. We want to make sure that our prospective members have the opportunity to qualify in this area of the application. We will be updating the site with more opportunities to serve, as they become available.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
