MA in Healthcare Administration
A little bit about me...
My name is Conchetta Dixon and I’m 28 years old. I was born and raised in the hospitality state known as Mississippi. I am currently stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where I serve in the United States Navy as a medical assistant and dental technician for active duty members and their dependents. The military has been apart of my life since before I was born. My father served in the Army and retired and my career consists of 4 years and counting. My husband and I both are active duty and we have 2 beautiful girls 6 and 7 years old.
I have an Associates of Science with emphasis in Business Marketing and Management. In continuation, my Bachelors is also in Science with emphasis in Sociology to also include minors in Marketing, Non-profit studies, and Anthropology. Lastly, my Masters will be in Healthcare Administration among graduation in August right here at Ashford. During my undergraduate I found myself in a predicament that was not forthcoming to my education. I needed support not only in education, but a mentor in life and how to keep pushing. I became pregnant with my 7 year old in college at the age of 21 and thought it would be impossible to finish on time; not only did I finish on time, but graduated as a mother. The relationship ended and I decided to join the Navy where I met my husband and his daughter.
I love to read and participate in all water activities when not at work. I am invested in health and fitness and support my husband as a personal trainer. Dogs are my favorite animals and snakes are my least favorite, in fact I am terrified of them. I’m an easygoing person who enjoys learning and meeting new people. Lastly, personal development is something that I hold dear to others and myself; everyone should find that something to motivate them and make them a better person.
Without grace, which was given to me by my mentor, I would have been in a different place, not quit sure where. My motto is to capture dreams and stop chasing them under all circumstances, never give up. Helping people is my passion and at any opportunity it is only right to be that one person who pushes the next an extra step to fulfill greatness in their dreams. Being a mom, wife, active duty member, and college student is impressive just alone, but what counts is my ability to be able to still give grace to help those in need.
