Reflection Corner: The Holy Trinity

The celebration of the Trinity recognizes the three persons in ONE GOD - FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT. It is one of the greatest mysteries in the Church. While we cannot fully fathom the mystery of the Trinity, let us pause and reflect on its important dimensions which is the community of love and persons. The TRINITY is the primary symbol of a community.

How do I bring my relationship with God to my family and community? Am I willing to lay down my life for those whom the Lord has given me to take care for?

Carnival 2016

Thank you very much for everyone's cooperation in making this year's carnival one fun and successful event. We would like to extend our appreciation to Event Chair, Mr. Alvin Ubaldo, all committee members, room parents, parent volunteers who helped put the whole thing together.

All classes that met 100% participation are having their Free Dress Day on Tuesday, May 31st. Those who met their point incentives will have their class parties either on Friday, May 27th or Wednesday, June 1st. The Room Parents will coordinate the parties with their respective teachers.

Great job, everyone!

Handbell Choir Program

Will your middle school child (next school year) be interested to be a part of the OLM Handbell Choir? Yes, we are looking into having an after-school handbell choir program which will take place one afternoon every week at a minimal cost. For now, we are just soliciting interest from prospective students. Please email newsletter@olmbulldogs.com if you are interested to hear more information about the program.

Looking for Art Parents

We are excited to let you know that Art in Action is coming to OLM. This coming school year, we are launching AiA in our kindergarten to fifth grade classrooms. The Art in Action provides students opportunities to "learn about works of art from cultures around the world, how to look at art using art vocabulary and concepts; and how to express themselves by creating their own unique masterpieces. . . . . .The multifaceted lessons develop students’ critical-thinking skills, creativity, visual literacy, self-esteem, and an appreciation of other cultures." (http://artinaction.org/overview/)

This program will come alive at OLM with the able support of Art Parents (no need to be art-inclined) who are excited to help deliver art instruction in our classrooms. While time commitment depends on your availability, consistency will be important. If you are interested to know more about how you could be a part of this exciting program, please email Jen Vitug at mjfvitug@gmail.com .
