Station 1 - Jacob's Ladder Poetry (Tables 4&6)
You need: pencil, notebook paper
Read the poem "The Lament of the Frog Prince." Then complete the A ladder on notebook paper...remember you climb a ladder from bottom to top! If you have time, start climbing the C ladder too. Turn in your paper to the blue basket at the end of the station. You may work with a partner - and you can choose whether you write together (put both names on one paper) or each write your own.Station 2 - Characters Change Over Time (Tables 3&5)
You need: computer, LWW, Character Traits List
Continue your "character trait timeline" of either Lucy or Edmund in your reading journal. You should have AT LEAST one trait from each chapter the character appears in. Each entry should be in the following format:
TRAIT
QUOTATION
EXPLANATION
An example for Alice would be:
Ch./Page/Beginning
Slothful
"...she was considering in her own mind whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies..." p.1
Alice is feeling very sleepy and lazy. She is bored, but is not willing to get up to end her boredom.
Ch./Page/Middle
Creative
"I wish I could shut up like a telescope!"
Alice is trying to figure out how to get in the small door. Her thoughts are in the form of a creative simile about folding up like a telescope.
Station 3 - Symbolism (Kidney Table)
Read the directions on the symbol worksheet. Answer the questions, researching when necessary, to learn more about your symbol.
Station 4 - Vocabulary (Tables 1&2)
There is a new quizlet for new vocabulary! Take a few minutes and go through the words. Choose TWO that you are the least comfortable with. Find a partner who chose the same word if possible. Then go to the vocabulary squares activity. Make a copy. Complete a slide for each word. If you have extra time, choose another word!
May I get comfy?
