Hiawatha Elementary
Week of April 6th
Hello Husky Families-
I hope this newsletter finds you all healthy and well. As you have probably heard our school buildings will be closed until April 30th. This does not mean that school is closed, just access to our building. Teachers and staff have been busy preparing remote learning lessons and check-ins and are eager to begin teaching remotely beginning tomorrow, Monday April 6th.
As we continue to provide learning experiences for your child at home during the week of April 6th, it is critical that you and your student are checking the communication with your child’s homeroom teacher daily. Some of the communication tools have been email, ClassDojo, and Remind. During the week of April 6th we will be providing specific learning targets and activities aligned to our district curriculum. Students will need to engage in weekly reading, writing, and math activities. Essential learning targets have been identified and are listed in each grade level document below.
We recognize that this is a new experience for families, our students, and even our teachers. We want everyone to give their best effort in continuing to provide our students with the best educational experiences. We also know that families are also doing their best to work from home and provide for their families during this stressful time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for support. We are here for you and are happy to help!

Internet Access/Support
Just a reminder that Comcast is offering free internet service through an offer that began last week. We encourage families without internet access to consider taking advantage of this offer.
Our staff is continuing to upload resources and activities to our PowerLearning pages and providing e-learning resources for our students to continue to learn at home. Reminder you can find your student’s classroom teacher by going on our website and clicking under Staff Directory to find their name and link. Here is the video tutorial link again if you need any support.
