Please see the following instructions to assist you in changing any email or phone number information and to opt in for District Text Messaging.
Austin ISD is now offering families the option to receive texts for multiple types of district messages. If you would like to get texts from the district or your campus, make sure your contact numbers and email in your Parent Cloud account are updated.
Update your contact information by following these steps:

2. Go to the Edit Contact Info tab.
3. Click the Edit button in the Edit Phone Numbers section to change your home, work or cell number.
4. Click the Edit button in the Edit Email Address section to change your email address.
5. Click Submit Changes.
For help updating your contact info, call your student's school.
Set up text messaging for your chosen cell phone line:
1. Log in to your Parent Cloud account and select the My Messages tile from the My Student menu.
2. Check all forms of message's you’d like to receive for each cell phone number. (If there’s an X instead of a check, you will not receive the text message.)
For help getting text messaging started, call the support line at 512-414-9187.
Black History Month
In addition to topics being discussed in academic classes, Crockett will be celebrating Black History Month through Advisory all month long! Our entire campus will learn about the history of Black History Month, followed by opportunities for students and staff to discuss the following topics: the civil rights movement in Austin, Maya Angelo on self-love and perseverance, how stereotypes can hurt, and what we know about race. We are excited to have these conversations about the accomplishments and influence of Black Americans because Black history is American history. If you have further questions about the discussions taking place during advisory, please reach out to your student's advisory teacher.
English Learner Parent Workshop
Twilight
Twilight begins directly after dismissal at 4:30 P.M. and ends at 6:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday. Twilight is great opportunity for students to make up attendance hours, have a dedicated space to complete coursework, and receive academic support from teachers.
Spire Sound Studio now in the Library!
The Crockett Library recently received a grant from Chevron via DonorsChoose for a small compact Spire Sound Studio, which consists of a portable multi-track recording device, iPad and headphones. This small studio is now available in the Library for students interested in audio recording projects. We recently did a demonstration with two orchestra violin students who had never done multi-track recording before, and they were amazed! Interested students should talk to Ms. Gibson about signing up for time.
Early College High School application
The Early College High School application is now open for current 8th and 9th graders! College & Career Center Field Trips:
- Students in 10th and 11th grades are invited to attend a local college fair hosted by the National Hispanic College Consortium on February 12th. Students must turn in a signed permission slip to Ms. Snyder in the College & Career Center as soon as possible to reserve their space on the trip. Permission slips are available in the CCC or you can print one here.
- 12th grade students can attend the AISD Career Fair on February 28th. This is a prime opportunity for seniors who aren't sure of their plans post-graduation to explore some opportunities. Students must turn in a permission slip to the CCC in order to attend. Get the permission slip here.
- 10th & 11th grade students can explore the Austin Career Fest on Monday, March 2nd. Over 200 companies and employers from the Austin area will be present to talk with students about internships, career paths, and future employment opportunities. Spots are limited for this trip, so turn in a permission slip to the CCC soon to save your seat on the bus! Get the permission slip here.
Talent Show
Come See Crockett Talent on Thursday, February 13th and support Crockett Student Council! The show starts at 6:00 in the Crockett Performing Arts Center. Tickets at $3 at the door, but bring your spare change to vote for your favorite act and select our winner.
Mock ACT
The Mock ACT is a full-length practice test, and it will start promptly at 9:00AM on Monday, February 17th (parent-teacher conference day) in Room 10. I highly recommend all juniors take advantage of this free practice opportunity. Not only will students experience the exam material, but the following week students will receive an email of their detailed score report including their section scores and a detailed report of the types of questions where they did well and can show improvement. If your student is interested in taking this practice test, please email michelle.snyder@austinisd.org so we can reserve a seat for them for the test. Students can also sign up for the mock ACT on the sign up sheet in the College & Career Center. All students will need to bring their own calculators and pencils. Testing will begin promptly at 9:00 am and should conclude around 12:30 pm.

Student IDs
As a reminder, student IDs are expected to be on and visible at all times. If you student has lost or misplaced their ID, they can purchase a new one in the main office before or after school for $5.
We appreciate your support with encouraging your student to have their ID at school daily as we strive to keep our campus safe.
Students who regularly do not have their IDs will be assigned discipline consequences.
Cell Phone Policy
At Crockett Early College High School, we support our Core Value of “Engagement” through the Collective Commitment of “Away for the Day” regarding Cell Phones and Headphones. This is in line with the AISD District Policy FNCE.
Students are allowed to possess a cell phone. However, cell phones should not be used in classrooms or hallways during instructional time. Students who need a device for instruction should use their charged, district-issued Chromebook or other approved device.
Students who are non-compliant with this policy in classrooms and hallways during school hours will have their cell phones and other devices confiscated by an administrator. If confiscated, it will not be returned until 48 hours have passed and a $15.00 fee will be administered, as allowed by Texas Education Code 37.082. Crockett High School is not responsible for phones or other electronic devices if they are stolen or damaged while on school property. For emergency contact with family, landline telephones are available to students in school offices.
Thank you for supporting student engagement in instruction at Crockett ECHS.
