IA Counselor Weekly Update

Have a wonderful summer break and we'll see you all soon!
Mrs. Dittus For me, summer always includes going on long hikes. Whether it is here near home or up north in our state parks, a good hike clears my mind, allows me to connect with nature, and provides fun exercise. Try taking a walk in the woods- it will do you good! | Ms. Acton Summer is my favorite season, and I celebrate it by sitting outside and reading my favorite book, Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury. You should do this too! Dandelion Wine is an amazing story about a small town summer in 1928 and it has everything - nostalgia, romance, suspense...it's a great way to relax and unplug. Oh - and get a puppy! This is Hercules. | Ms. Piagentini I want to be PRESENT each and every day. I plan to step away from screens and soak up time with my family, friends, and mother nature. |

Ms. Phelps This summer I will be completing a 4 part webinar series called "Culture of Whyteness" and also engaging in our staff book club to read and process "White Fragility" I am also very excited to be working with students in an anti-racist book club enrichment reading "This Book is Anti-Racist" I love curling up to read on the couch with some iced coffee and my cat, Sanger! | Mrs. BernsteinThis summer we want students to take time to relax and recharge. One thing I will be doing this summer to recharge is listening to The Happiness Lab podcast by Dr. Laurie Santos, professor at Yale University. The podcast focuses on the science of happiness and explores how the things we think will make us happy, like more money and a better job, are most often not the case. |
