Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters!
A Message from Principal Webb
Hello families,
I hope this break finds you enjoying time with family and friends. I am thankful for all the families, staff and students at Longfellow Elementary. I hope you have a great restful holiday break.
Our busy week ended with a RESPECT PBIS assembly on Thursday. Please ask your student the song/rap/chant that their class created to perform at our assembly on RESPECT. They were all very well done! In this newsletter, I have also included resources that parents/guardians can access during the break to support learning.
I look forward to seeing everyone back in January. Have a safe and happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb

Dear Longfellow Families,
Thank you for your donations to the final Seymour’s Shop! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your generosity. Seymour’s Shop has had a variety of names, but it has been a long-standing Longfellow tradition for well over my 8 years of being here.
This year I was able to help 72 students give gifts to their loved ones. Seymour’s Shop also offers me a unique opportunity to get to know students better. Without your contributions, none of this would have been possible.
We will use leftover gift items as prizes for PBIS ticket drawings.

A Note From our Student Family Advocate- RESPECT
Where has 2018 gone? This school year has seen a lot of changes for students, their families, staff, and our newly renovated Longfellow building. We are happily seeing the hallways and classrooms filled with students and their work. Thank you for contributing to our school culture as we continue to grow and make progress with these wonderful Longfellow Longhorns. As you know, we just completed our RESPECT CAMPAIGN. Over the last three weeks, our focus was on being safe, supportive, and responsible to create a respectful atmosphere in which students can learn and grow. Teachers and support staff taught different lessons on respect over the last few weeks. Please make sure to ask your child what they learned over the last few weeks. We've really been trying to focus on respect in the classroom and community and a good conversation piece with your child would be to compare those to what respect looks like at home. We know and value that those may look and sound different based on the environment and we want all students to have a good understanding of that!
