First Course Level 1 - Creating a Google Classroom

Level 2 - Using Google Classroom to level instruction
Teachers will be given strategies for leveling assignments or creating alternate assignments to meet the needs of different learners. Must have knowledge of Level 1 to take part in this activity.
Seat Time: 1 hr
Level 2 - Using Google Classroom for Parent/Teacher or Student/Teacher Communication
Teachers will be shown how to manage student comments, grade assignments, and communicate with students using Google Classroom. Teachers will be shown how to assign values to grades and how to show students the proper ways to submit assignments. Also how to return and accept student work. Must have knowledge of Level 1 to take part in this activity.

Level 2 - Proper Use of Google Classroom, Moderating Comments/Assignments and protecting your students
Teachers will be provided with strategies for managing student behavior on classroom and how to deal with issues that may arise. Teachers will be educated on classrooms privacy settings and legal issues involving redistribution of materials on classroom. They will also be given strategies for promoting proper use of Google Classroom within their own courses. Must have knowledge of Level 1 to take part in this activity.

Level 3 - Using Google Classroom as a tool to facilitate research
Teachers will be given strategies for facilitating research through the Google Classroom page and using outside links. This course will be taught as an add on to the Project Based Learning Course. Must take that course to do this activity

Level 2 - Using Google Classroom as an Assessment Tool.
Teachers will be given various strategies for using Google Classroom as an assessment tool, from using the question feature as an exit ticket, to assessing progress or understanding during a long term assignment using the assignment feature. Must have knowledge of Level 1 to take part in this activity.

Level 3 - Using Google Classroom to Flip your classroom:
Teachers will be trained on how to use Google as a Classroom flipping tool. They will be given strategies for using Google Classroom as a means for getting lecture notes and videos out to their students and managing activities within their classroom. This activity will incorporate outside sources like Screen Cast-o-Matic and EdPuzzle. This is an advanced level activity that will require Level 1 and 2 knowledge.

Level 2 - Using Google Classrooms assignment/question features, Using Google Classroom with other Google applications:
Teachers will be given the opportunity to learn about Google Classrooms features by exploring the apps that go along with classroom. Creating assessments and questions that feature, google docs, slides, draw and many other applications. Teachers will be shown how to connect links to outside sources that may enhance activities, such as videos or web pages. Must have knowledge of Level 1 to take part in this activity.

Level 3 - Using Google Classroom as tool for Project Based Learning:
Teachers will be given strategies and ideas for how they can use Google Classroom as a “home base” for Project Based Learning. A place that they can store resources, track progress, assess outcomes and manage behavior. Teachers will be given the opportunity to create the shell for their own Project Based Learning activities using Google Classroom. This is an advanced level activity that will require Level 1 and 2 knowledge.
