Dear Families,
As we approach the holiday season, I want to share my gratitude for you - for your dedication to your students, your family’s health, our community and for flexing with us as we all adapt to the ups and downs of the pandemic. I appreciate the tremendous efforts at home to support learning for your students. I know it has not been easy or preferred. I am so grateful for our stellar staff! Their heroic efforts during this time have been key in navigating the many challenges we have experienced. Finally, I love our students and I am proud of how they are persevering despite the difficulties the pandemic has put upon them. I am so thankful for our EUSD community!
Warmly,
Andrée Grey, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Upcoming Holiday and Travel Information
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has put together a list of considerations to help protect individuals and their families, friends, and communities from COVID-19 around the holidays. A full list of considerations is available from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Public health officials are also encouraging all individuals to avoid unnecessary travel, especially if you or someone in your family is at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. If you plan to travel, please review the CDC’s travel considerations before you go. Upon returning from travel, the CDC recommends individuals maintain physical distancing, wear a mask while in public, wash their hands, and monitor their health for symptoms of COVID-19. In addition, California has issued a travel advisory that states people arriving in California from other states or countries, including returning California residents, should practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival and limit their interactions to their immediate household.
We know this time of year may be difficult for many families. We hope that you are able to celebrate and spend time with loved ones safely and responsibly. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support in ensuring our students and staff return to a safe environment.
Important iPad Updates to iOS 12.4.9/14.2
Earlier this week, in both Cloud Campus and Hybrid models, teachers began informing students the need to update their student iPads. If you notice an update prompt, or if an update has yet to be performed, click here for a short “How to” video on the quick steps to update at home. Please note that the process may take up to 60 minutes, so it is advisable to charge and leave the iPad in a location with a robust Internet connection for the entire duration. To complete the installation, be sure to have your student approve any “Agree/Install/Continue” prompts.
