π MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Over the last few weeks, I have seen some things thing that make me so proud to be a part of the School District of Crivitz.
In Crivitz, we have so much to be proud of. We always have. We have had awesome kids and community members doing awesome things, yet we hadn't been celebrating them as we should.
Last weekend (February 23-25) we had a wrestler participating in the state individual wrestling tournament in Madison for the first time since 2020 when Jaden Bemis qualified, and the first wrestler to make it through that tournament to the championship match for the first time since 2008 when Duane Hartkopf was a champion. Throughout TJ Mueller's run to the state finals, I witnessed some amazing school spirit. Students at our high school cheered for him at the regional and sectional tournaments. Students and teachers watched his matches at school while he was wrestling in Madison and of course the group of over 30 students who made the trip down to Madison to watch him wrestle in the Kohl Center. What amazing examples of school pride! The welcome home ceremony was so well attended also. I am so proud that our town has such great school spirit.
Sports teams and individuals competing and succeeding are not the only things we are proud of and attending sporting events is not the only way to show our school spirit! We have so many amazing things going on in our school! Our Hi-Q team is currently in 1st place in their competition and is hoping to qualify to compete at nationals! NATIONALS! That's huge! We have students earning free books from the book vending machine at the elementary school! We have a read-a-thon starting Friday where students track the minutes they read for a month! Stay tuned, you will be amazed at how much some of our students read!
We have so much to be proud of in Crivitz, and our students and their school spirit are two things, as superintendent, I am most proud of!
