Dates and Information
Attention Bobcat Families! Please go to www.brookwoodpto.com and visit the calendar section of our PTO website. We are diligently working to enter important dates, events, and event details as well as reservation and payment options to our online PTO calendar. It is our goal to simplify information for families so all you have to do is "click the calendar" and you will have everything you need all in one place.

2020-2021 BES PTO Board
In the upcoming school year the PTO will change the approach to how events are done. Instead of many of the events being done by the PTO Board with a few consistent parent volunteers, we will adopt a committee approach as many of the schools in our community have done. What does this mean for you and our school? This means that events will have a committee chairperson and volunteers from our parents versus the board putting on and supporting all of the events. What happens if we don't get volunteers to chair or support those events before the end of this school year? If we do not have enough volunteers then the events will not be scheduled for the upcoming school year. Please look at the Buzz next week for open board and chair positions with their descriptions to support our upcoming school year. We will also put this information on our Brookwood PTO Facebook page next Friday. Please reach out to brookwoodptoconnect@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer for the upcoming board by Friday, March 27, 2020.

Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Program
Read to Succeed is a free program that allows students in grades K-5 to earn a ticket to Six Flags Over Georgia just by reading six hours for fun.
The process is new this year. Each student needs the help of their parent to register for the program using a special class code unique to their homeroom teacher. A sheet was sent home before Thanksgiving break with the classroom code on it. Please contact your student’s homeroom teacher if you still need the code. Next go to www.sixflags.com/books and register your child. Each Brookwood child needs to be registered in your family under their homeroom teacher. Each time a child reads for fun, record your child’s reading on the Six Flag’s site.
All reading and the recording online needs to be complete by April 3, 2020. No late entries will be allowed. Once your child has read six hours, they will qualify for a free ticket. Six Flag tickets will be distributed in May.
Happy Reading!
Family Connect Nights!
Brookwood works with our middle and high school feeder schools to have a combined Family Connect Night once a month. This night is designed to put down homework and connect as a family. Some great ideas are to try something new, cook dinner together, have a puzzle night, game night, go for a walk or anything where you change up your routine and be in the moment! Be on the lookout for how we will post pics of your awesome Family Night!
