CHS Weekly Update
Week 13: 11-24-19
Thanksgiving is Here!
Fresh off of an awesome performance in our play, The Election (definitely reality TV in some parts), we officially made it to Thanksgiving! We have 2 full days and a half day this week that will follow the normal half-day schedule. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the rest and relaxation with your families!
Other Things on My Mind...
- It is extremely important that we communicate to students that school is in session on Wednesday and we will be doing important work. It also wouldn't hurt to let parents know especially if you are hearing that students may be opting to skip out. Our district did not make count on the last half day that we had and we cannot afford to have another day not count. In any communication to parents, please make sure to only focus on what you are doing in class that day, rather than not making count. This communication will be coming from administration/central office. If you need help with this communication, especially to parents, I'm happy to help!
- We have a staff meeting this Tuesday. We will continue our This is My Best (most likely no bananas harmed or handed out this time) and our work on rigor that we began last time. Please make sure to send me your first 10 questions of an assessment no later than the end of the day Monday, 11/25.
- If you teach seniors, please let them know that if they don't have a Senior Seminar, they can drop in the counseling office during their lunch on Thursdays to get any information from counselors that they may have missed from a counselor visit.
- Please remember to complete your post-observation whenever you have an observation by an administrator.
- Avin is coming back this week! Welcome back, Avin, we've missed you!
- Have an awesome week! :)
