Blue Bear Notes
A Message From Mrs. Gravitt
We are approaching the mid-point of the school year, wow. This has been a wonderful beginning in a great school. Thank you for welcoming me to Mashburn. I have enjoyed getting to know teachers, students and families. Mashburn is truly a special family, and I feel so blessed to be a part of this family. Students are demonstrating SPARK (Safe, Prepared, Accountable, Ridiculously Amazing, Kind) throughout the school, great job. Looking forward to a productive and fun December. Please try to join us next Thursday, December 7 – 6:00-8:00 PM, at Forsyth Central High School for “Heart of Forsyth Winter Festival”. Enjoy hot chocolate, pictures with Santa, a bounce house, live musical performances, activity booths, decorated tree walks and more. It will be GREAT family fun for everyone. Thank you parents for all your support.

Hi Mashburn Family & Friends,
It’s hard to believe that we are already in December and closing out 2017! Aubie and I have loved working with our students in the classrooms for our Core Counseling Curriculum lessons, in small groups like Movement & Mindfulness, individually and with parents and staff to support our Mashburn Blue Bears grow and learn not only academically, but also social and emotionally! Last month, we focused on communication and our first career lesson. In December our focus will be on Gratitude and our second career lesson of the school year!
I’m excited to announce that Forsyth County is offering an amazing parenting series: Love & Logic effective parenting! Love & Logic provides parents with a loving and balanced approach to handling their kids. Children will learn how to develop personal responsibility and practice self-control. This FREE 6-week series begins on January 18th and meets on Thursdays from 6-7pm at the Forsyth county Public Library 585 Dahlonega Street, Cumming, GA 30040. Food and Childcare will be provided. For more information or to RSVP please call 770-887-1098 or email email@example.com.
The holidays are a great time to push the reset button and be grateful as a family for each other, what you have and how you support each other. I hope that you and your family have a December to Remember and a fabulous holiday season!
