Shaun White
Shaun White is the son of Cathy and Roger White. He is known for being a two-time half-pipe snowboarding Olympic gold medalist. Shaun was born on September 3, 1986. As a 27-year-old, his MHR is 193. As an athlete, his THR is 154-174. He upholds his reputation by continuously bettering himself at each competition he attends. Not only is Shaun a pro snowboarder, he's also a pro skateboarder. He got his start at his neighborhood YMCA, and has since then won the Winter X Games more than eight times!

Half-Pipe Snowboarding
The Half-pipe
The snowboarder must start from one end to the other to complete a run. Each run is scored on a scale of 0.1 to 10.0 by five judges. Mistakes and any falls lead to deductions.
Equipment
A half-pipe snowboarder must wear a helmet and have a flexible board in order to perform tricks and bends.
Amplitude Scoring
For the amplitude (height) score each maneuver is given an additional point for every 30 centimeters that the competitor reaches above the lip of the pipe.
