Dear Families,
Tomorrow starts our hybrid, remote learning plan. We are ready and looking forward to it! I sent you two important emails this past week that explains our instruction, schedule, and procedures in hybrid. I have attached the emails again, below this note, for your convenience.
Here is a summary of important information:
Q. DO I NEED TO SCREEN MY CHILD?
Yes, each morning before the start of school.

If your child has symptoms of COVID, or your child is sick, please keep him/her at home and please call in his/ her's absence.

Q. WHAT WILL STUDENT ARRIVAL BE?
Buses- Recess Yard
Parent/ Student Drop-Offs start @ 8:15 AM
K-2 and Older Siblings, parent drop off door down the hill
3-5 , main lobby door
Walkers through parent pick up doors
Q. WHAT WILL STUDENT DISMISSAL BE?
Buses- Recess Yard
Parent/ Student Pick- Up @ 2:40, please do not arrive until 2:35 PM. Please put your child’s name in the window.
K-2 and Older Siblings, parent pick-up door down teh hill
3-5 , main lobby door
Walkers through parent pick up doors
Q. WHAT ARE PROCEDURES FOR CLASSROOMS?
Masks or shields are to be worn. Please send an extra mask or two in a zip lock bag.
There will be a supply of face masks in each classroom if a student needs one.
Mask breaks will be up to 10 minutes every hour.
Breaks can be outside.
If inside, 6 feet distancing is to be maintained.
Desks are distanced at 6 feet apart.
Students will not share cubbies.
Students may not share supplies (pencils, pens, crayons, glue sticks, etc.).
Students may bring sanitizer.
Q. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR BATHROOM USE?
When going as a class, distance will be maintained in the hall.
Only one student at a time should be sent to the bathroom from a classroom.
Grades have assigned bathrooms.
Q. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR VISITS TO THE NURSE?
Our GAE Nurse is Michelle Cassidy, mcassidy1@wcasd.k12.pa.us.
Students must have on a mask and use sanitizer before entering the office.
The number of students seen by the nurse at one time will be limited. Students will be seen and sent back to class.
Please encourage your student not to request to go to the nurse for at home injuries (old scrapes, scratches etc.).
The nurse will maintain proper spacing of students in the office and will be in the proper PPE for seeing students.
Q. WHAT ABOUT BREAKFAST?
Breakfast is at no cost and it will be bagged and eaten in the classroom.
Q. WHAT ABOUT LUNCH?
Lunch is at no cost to students.
6 feet of social distancing will be maintained in the cafeteria
6 feet of social distancing will be maintained in the adjacent overflow room ( will be used for a few cohorts).
Lunch is 25 -30 minutes.
Masks are to be on unless eating or drinking.
Students will wash their hands before lunch.
Students will have an assigned seat.
If sending lunch, please pack in disposable bags if possible.
Please avoid sending items that your child will need assistance opening.
When exiting for recess, students will use sanitizer on the way out.
Q. MY CHILD HAS ALLERGIES ARE OTHER FOOD ITEMS AVAILABLE?
Aramark can prepare special meals but you will need to contact them and fill out a form. If you are concerned about your child's allergies, please feel free to pack their food.

Q. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR RECESS?
Recess is 25-30 minutes.
Masks will be worn during recess.
There will be designated areas for masks breaks.
Playground equipment is okay to use.
Parallel play is encouraged.
Upon entering the building, students are to use sanitizer.

Q. WHAT ABOUT SUPPLIES/MATERIALS AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME?
Please do not stress.
Your teacher will let you know what your child needs to bring daily.
We will make sure they have what they need while they are at school.

OTHER IMPORTANT OFFICE INFORMATION:
BACK TO SCHOOL FORMS - If you have not completed the forms on the Parent Portal, please do so. Also,please make sure emergency contact information is correct and up to date.
PARENT PICK UP NOTES- Please send in a handwritten signed note indicating that you will be picking up your child.
ABSENTEE HOTLINE - Please call 484-266-1710 and leave a message when you know your child will be absent from school or late.
VACATION REQUESTS - When needing family vacation time, email tweaver2@wcasd.net and dryan@wcasd.net.
UPCOMING CALENDAR:
10/19 and 10/20: Hybrid A students will be in the building and the focus will be on teaching the A students the hybrid safety routines. Asynchronous work will be posted for Hybrid B and Remote learners.
10/21 Remote Day for all learners.
10/22 and 10/23: Hybrid B students will be in the building and the focus will be on teaching the B students the hybrid safety routines.Asynchronous work will be posted for the Hybrid A and Remote learners.
* Your child will come on A and B days if they are in the special education or the EL program.
10/28: Optional Halloween Virtual Dress Up Day
Calendar Moving Forward:
In our hybrid model, every Wednesday, from now until calendar year- end, will be a remote , at home learning day, unless the school is closed or there is another day off that week.
On Wednesday, 11/4, Hybrid A will be at school because 11/3 is a day off due to election day.
11/23 and 11/24: Half Days for Students, Parent Teacher Conferences
11/25- 11/27: Thanksgiving Break
12/23: Half Day for Students
12/24-1/3: Winter Break
